Did he say why he was not trying a different inhaler? I once was left without after having an allergic reaction to an inhaler because my GP did not know enough about inhalers to choose another for me and I had to wait to see my consultant. Is there a respiratory nurse at the surgery you could ask?
Spiolto respimat is not the only combination inhaler available. There are at least 2 others, but I can only remember angora ellipta at the moment. It's a different combination of a laba/lama which might suit you better. So go back to your gp and ask to be put on one of the other combination inhalers which according to the latest research has a better response than a laba or lama on its own.
Did your gp prescribe the spiolto?
Hi Gingercracker, I tried this inhaler about 6 months ago, had no cough, the inhaler was brilliant until my eyes started watering after a couple of days and by the end of the week I had to go to the docs. Apparently it was drying the fluid in my eyes so I had to stop taking it. Now take Fostair which I find to be quite good.
In your previous posts you mentioned that you have asthma. If this is right you should never have been given spiolto respimat. It says it's not for asthma
It's your health and your body, and in the current climate of cuts and shortages the only person who really cares about your illness is you! You must ask questions and be clear in your own mind exactly what is wrong with you and what stage you are. When you know that you can then look up the Nice guidelines to see check the correct medication.
