Hi everyone, I've been a member for awhile but never introduced myself. I'm a cancer survivor, but ever since I've had chemo I've seemed to develop other help problems. It's like the chemo changed my dna and immune system. I was recently diagnosed with chronic bronchitis.

Welcome to you Tootsie and hope you enjoy being on HU. Chemo can take its toll and sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I care for hubbby Pete who has sarcoidosis and COPD (chronic bronchitis) and he is doing well at the moment.

Hope you are being well cared for by your doctor and do stay in touch. Xxxx

Hi Tootsie and welcome to the forum.

Well done, for beating the big C. I can imagine that Chemo will cause side effects but, they may settle down over time. xx

Thanks casper, yes I think it'll just take some time. I remember after my last chemo treatment I thought ok I'll be all back to normal. Tried to do my usual stuff before I had the treatments. I ended up in bed for a week. I realized then that it's just going to take some time to get back to normal. After all, when you do chemo your basically poisoning yourself to kill the cancer.

Yes, your right about the treatment wiping out your immune system. That's vound to take time for it to build back up and reset itself.

My cousin had xhemo and radiation for stage 4 cervical cancer and she had a few draining side effects, particularly, fatigue, diarrhoea and very sore skin.

It took many months for them to settle down but, 13 years on, and she's fit and healthy.

You'll get there, just take things slowly. xx

welcome.

Hi

I too am a cancer survivor I had chemo and radiotherapy 14 years ago and I'm in the process of trying to get a diagnosis for my lung problems. I believe the treatment I've had has damaged my respiratory system.

I've found this site very useful hope you do too. Xx
