As we grow old here in Australia We lose things....Sight..Hearing..Bladder control (to name a few) so we hang around in packs...We call them Senior Citizens clubs where we engage in "Tea Partys" and have meat raffles.
Here is what can go wrong at one of these functions
Isn't it amazing what we can now do with the invention of the latest gizmo's the Internet.....video...ipads...mobile phones.
In our younger days we had to write and post letters...eyeball each other to talk....and then Graham Bell invented the telephone and things stopped being personal.......... I am sure you also remember those "Good old Days"
I don't quite remember the days before the telephone ππ
I love all the modern technology, use it every day, and try to keep up with the changes.
Mr V however hasn't got a clue, and doesn't care....He says he doesn't need it. πππ
All our utilities, gas, water, electricity, tax affairs, banking, car/house insurance are all done on line
Well he doesn't while l do it all for him, but l dread to think how he will cope if l go first , he even hates using a mobile phone and debit card !!
Well 6.10am here...Dark, and cold...I am just enjoying my first cup of tea of the day, and in a moment, l am going to press the send button on this screen....Then Magic...Within a couple of seconds it will appear on your screen, thousands of miles away.
Fantastic !!
You and Susan have a great day...Or is it night !!
It is 5.30 or if you are of military background 1730 hrs.... orif one is a little on the slow side The big hand is on 6 and the little hand is on 5
Lovely sunny afternoon
Mrs S and I have been out to lunch.
It was one of those days...never wanted it to end...Great company and delicious food.
Here am I sitting watching the Aussies hammer the poor old Paky's in the cricket, whilst the good wife is outside gardening...Life couldn't be better.
Must go and remind her that we need to eat our supper (after she prepares it of course) Then I think I will get her to wash the car.
Susan has just purchased a new Mazda CX5 sports. We took it out today and does it handle the sharp curves....Methinks Mrs S needed the rest room as soon as we arrived at the restaurant. Weak Bladder??
Wow swap places with you...I want some sunshine, and the sports car...Mazda, fantastic, we have had several over the years.
Enjoy your supper and evening, make sure you put your feet up, it must have taken it out of you, watching the cricket, Susan cleaning the car, Susan doing the gardening and Susan getting your supper !!
You Aussie males have it tough πππππ
By the way the Mazda is an SUV the model is sports so it is more of a seniors car.
I did buy Susan a Mazda RX7 a long time ago and IT WAS a sports car. Wouldn't let me drive it!!!
Back to a boring game of cricket, must remind Susan to bring in the washing, sweep and mop the floors and vacuum the carpet...That should keep her occupied until bedtime.
Sometimes we are very polite out here and express our opinions with a great deal of finesse. Just not this time !!
Enjoy your day Mate

Thaks Coughalot
Hope you are okay?
I read that the weather over there could be better.
I saw a video clip last week of some folk, obviously short of the grey matter, actually walking along the sea side and even a car, nearly washed into the sea with the huge waves.
I thought you got rid of most of them by shipping them out here in chains.

Sigh...we did. Things started going wrong when it stopped. Shame really xx
Nice to hear from you. I trust you and the Missus are well??
From reading the replies to my post there appears to be one of the opposite sex who would pay the fare for you. (I was going to say weaker sex but as I do not wish to wind up in the dog house with you I won't. You might get fleas).
If you did come here you might be surprised and not want to go home. Sometimes we have the 4 seasons in one day.
As I understand it, you would need to come to Victoria, with our free hospital (The Alfred)...You would retain your British pension AND receive the Australian pension also...meds are $6.45 (they have just gone up 25c Blast!!).
Free public transport on some services...very cheap on the trains..buses and trams.
I hope I have not said the wrong thing here, as we may have "You know who" trying to recover the fare from you and using it for herself. I do not know how Mr V would fit into her suitcase.
Do you remember my post from some months ago "Ever started something and wish you Hadn't"??
Finally finished the project, and have already had requests from friends to come around and help them with a similar project.
I have told them to send me some pics and I will give them.. ALL ....the technical advice I can, but me go around there... NEVER!!
