Hair dryer?

I have just come home from hospital after having 2 weeks IV antibiotics. I have been very poorly and at the moment have oxygen to use all the time. My question is there is so much you must avoid when you have oxygen, but can you use a hair dryer to blow dry hair?

Yes you can use a hair dryer ,, just stay away from any naked flames so no cooking if you have a gas cooker and no candles in the house etc ....It should all be in your handbook that your oxygen supplier "should " have given you but if not here is a link

Hi

Hair dryers have hot heating element,.

You can come of your oxygen for a short duration, towel dry as much as possible then a final blow dry,

Although some risk are small and unlikely, knowing the various risk will allow you to make a sensible judgment and fall into a pattern of safety first.

And be able to enjoy the benefits of your new medication oxygen.

I was sat drying my hair when the technician came with my order and he advised that I NOT use a hair dryer whilst using oxygen. He warned of the heating element stone mentions but also said many hair dryers give off sparks as they get older. I then just towel dried. Kinder for the hair anyway.
