Are you already on DLA and transferring to PIP? Or just starting on PIP?

Either way most important point is to get help completing forms. They are designed to avoid paying out wherever possible!

CAB are helpful to complete forms. Although I needed to kick up a fuss to get their help.

Websites that are VERY helpful are CAB website - which is free and explains how to complete form.

Work and benefits website is also helpful but you need to pay to join.

Complete form in rough first before getting help from CAB - I did this and still took 3 hours to complete form!

REMEMBER is HOW condition affects YOU not what condition is, that is important.

Take a copy of form before you send it and also send any info from professionals. You will have a face to face assessment and they are not easy.... try to get them to do a home visit and have someone there with you. They will be assessing you right from the start!!

Best of luck with it and feel free to message me if you have any other questions.

Thanks you bevvy..I was on dla but having a lot of trouble with the dhss.I hate them with a vengance.I've got someone to help me with the forms.this will be the 4th face to face in the last year plus two court appeals.it's just getting me down.thanks for your David will let you know how I get on.

Great reply Bevvy. Every area should have a disability helpline number and you can make an appointment to see them with help filling in the forms. CAB in my area is useless as they are open 2/3 half days a weeks now coz of lack of funding and they are so busy it's impossible. x

Hello Kenny, welcome and nice to meet you. I can't help with your pip application, but there are 'related posts' in the right hand column or you can phone the BLF helpline on 03000 030 555 and you might get some answers. Good luck to you. x

Member Toci put up a post with very helpful advice. If you put her name in the search bar top right her old post should come up, scroll down until you find the post and its replies (sorry, rubbish at doing links).

Next put PIP in the search bar for more information. As Tee suggest, look on the right for related post but check the dates on them for the most recent info.

Good luck. P
