Hi , I have been living with a partner for three years who smokes 'Rollies' . I have never smoked in my life, but during the last 3 weeks I have had an irritating dry cough, could it be an affect of passive smoking?, although I do try not to breathe in any smoke.

Passive Smoking
Possibly, Adrian. I would venture to suggest you check with your doctor. A persistent cough should never be ignored. Better safe than sorry.
I agree with Azure_Sky. x
I agree with azure sky. A sudden constant cough needs investigating. You will breathe in every cigarette your partner has even if they smoke in a different room some of the smoke stays in the lungs for a while and can stay in he air for over 2 hours
Below is a link to the NHS site for information on passive smoking and the second link tells you how passive smoking is more toxic than smoking
Doesn't he have the consideration to smoke outside like most people
Azure_Sky has given you excellent advice. Good luck.
My husband died of Lung Cancer because he ignored his symptoms. He had a persistent cough for over a year.
I agree with the others.Do get that cough looked at asap.
AND make your selfish partner smoke outside! You have also been inhaling the toxins from the cigarettes which are on their clothes for years!
I agree with Stillstanding63 and if your partner will not co-operate leave him/her!! Its your health and no one would wish upon you the misery of this illness so why allow someone to inflict it upon you.
