Well that's it, I'm officially homeless now. I was a care worker, working with older people with severe Mental Disabilities and health conditions, I started developing COPD about 18 months ago an it became increasingly obvious that I could no longer cope with the heavy work load, so I resigned. No income apart from a very small pension meant I had to put my house on the market. That completed yesterday so I'm staying at a good friends flat - only problem is that she's a chain smoker!!! Off to see some 1 bed flats next week, one a specialist over 55's community (I'm 60) but my favourite is in an isolated village called Golcar in Yorkshire - fresh air!!

Good luck changohank. Off to a new life! And the sooner the better to get out of your friend's smoke. I downsized to the smallest house I have ever lived in two years ago. It is in the centre of a little village outside Stratford upon Avon. I am the happiest I have ever been. Much lower bills, less to clean and I can lock it up and go away. Good luck with it all. I feel sure that you will find your own little haven in a friendly peaceful place.
A new start could have such great benefits, and what a lovely place to live in the middle of the Pennines with those gorgeous views, and Huddersfield only a short drive away. I hope that it all turns out well and wish you all the luck in the world. XXX
It's a shame you had to lose your previous home but it's a new adventure and not everyone is lucky enough to be able to do that. New home new friends and great places to walk.
Here's wishing you all the best in your new home Changohank. It's exciting you can make a choice of homes to live in. I'm sure you'll find the perfect place to suit you.
In the meantime, it's very kind of your friend to offer you a room in her flat, but if she's a smoker, you would be better off in your own place as soon as you can arrange it.
Have fun choosing your new home & let us know how you get on 🌸
How exciting! An adventure! Very good luck finding a new home and how nice to have a good friend to let you stay...smoker or not! Do let us know the next chapter. xxx
Hi chanohank sorry to hear your homeless one door closes another opens. But gotta say new beginnings new adventure. You'll certainly love Golcar it's so beautiful. I used to lIve there. only recently moved to Emley which is surrounded by miles and miles of countryside. wishing you every success with your new adventure.
We moved from the city to the country, beautiful views , but in the winter a bit quiet. But you make it to be what you want . Good luck finding your new home 😀👍
