Seretide v Fostair

Hi Guys. I saw the respiratory nurse a month ago and she got me to change from my usual Seretide 500 to Fostair. All was well for a week or so then my SATS went off a cliff and my heart rate shot up by 20% or so. I have now changed back to the Seretide and I am slowly picking up. Has anyone else had this problem.

Hi I am on my third month now on Fostair so far so good I guess what's good for one is not for another. 😊

Thanks Pauline. The leg cramps I got didn't help and the bad dreams. xx

Gosh was this all a side effect from Fostair I shall be wary. Fingers crossed.

I was swapped from Ciclesonide to Fostair 200/6 about 6 weeks ago, I haven't noticed any significant side effects. I have had improvements in my peak flow

I'm as rough as old boots young Bev. I have gone back to the Seretide and I am slowly picking up now. I don't see many people these days unfortunately, it's just me and the cat. Daughter is getting married on Saturday but I'm not fit enough to go. Think of the money I will save on drinks.

I had the same change but with a couple of months in between with Sirdupla. Have not noticed any difference but I do miss the little counter on Fostair.

I had this problem too and was put back on Seretide, then saw concultant's registrar who took me off Seretide and put me on Anoro, then saw consultant who wanted me back on Fostair but when I told him about the problem he gave me QVAR instead which works well without side effects, so there are other solutions. Good luck.

Hi Bobby, nice to see you again. Can't help on the change of meds but they tried changing my Seretide some time ago and the results were bad but can't recall which drug it was. I was puit back to Seretide anyway. So good luck with sorting it out.

I tried seretide when I was just diagnosed with asthma. I ended up with tiny round bruises all over my body. On just one thigh I counted 50, and those were only the ones that I could actually see.

Hi Bobby, nope, I'm on it now and find it brilliant. Hardly need Ventolin.

I was changed from Seretide to Sirdupla for a while against my wishes & it was awful (not as bad as you though). Good job you're back on what works for you. Good luck & take care. P

Hi Peege. Luckily my SATS are climbing day by day now but I have learned my lesson, I'm sticking to what I know from now on. xxxx

I just got swapped from symbicort (smart) for my asthma to fostair &spiriva...using fostair also if I need extra puffs per day. My peak flow is still all over the place but has improved a little bit. I have been needing 1-2 puffs extra most days. Not sure it feels overly better really but will see how it goes.

I too find Fostair is not all it's cracked -up to be. But then again, it's probably a case of "horses for courses". Back to Seretide for me. Cheers.

Hi Stone

As you would know Seretide has steroids. Go on Google and check this other one. It possibly you need the steroids.
