How long for?
Hi Chip, your doctor should have told you that - better call her up (telephone appointment) as we aren't qualified to tell you when to reduce, or when is too long. Sounds like you're a bit better than you were which is good.
Hi Chip, l agree with O2 contact your doctor. Xxx
Are you on anti b's and steroids as well. i personally would stay as you are until you feel your breathing is better. you have maybe had what they call an exacerbation so it will take longer than a chest infection. i had one ages ago not pleasant and it took me a while to recover that is why i always have ab's/steroids at home. if you are feeling no better no harm in going back to the dr. do you have a pulmonary nurse/dr at your surgery. mine is Karen and she is wonderful i go every 3 months just to make sure everythings on track plus she understands as not all people do how debilating COPD can be. Take care. Always here for a chat Sharon
If you really feel you cannot trust your own judgement then back to your Doctor. Don't hang about, your body is precious

Hi Chip see if you can share this around. Very scary on Antibiotics. Thailand
Ok so I did a week at 8 puffs and have reduced back down to 4 on the basis that...
A) the steroids won't wear out of my system quickly and if I start feeling ill again I can go back to 8 puffs
B) I feel mostly better and am not stopping the Steroid inhaler just reducing back to my prescribed dosage
