I've just completed 3 weeks of 5 days each week attending the gym ,I am feeling much better and have far more energy ,so it's true exersise is a positive thing for us with breathing problems ,you all know my story so I'm not going to bore you with it again ,enough to say ,. ,, the reason I'm doing all this exersise is simple ,the consultant wanted me to think about supplementary oxygen,,. My reply ,,, yes I've thought about it ,and that's the end of that ,I've worked hard going to the gym ( when well) twice a week since 2008 to keep as well as possible ,,,,,sadly my levels dropped when last tested ,( due to other health problems I was unable to exersise ) I told him I would work hard to get my levels up again ,,,. He's giving me 3 months then I'll have another test ,,,,I'm working so hard at the gym the trainers are helping me soo much ,,,,I just wanted to give myself a pat in the back for what I'm trying to achieve ,. And for what I've achieved the last 3weeks. Positive mental attitude ,ποΈββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈππ

Good for you Nanny. The more your muscles get conditioned the more efficiently you'll use O2, then you can exercise more easily - virtuous circle. Ive been through this and got off my ambulatory O2, and at my 6-monthly consultant appointment last tuesday i found my fev1 was up by 4%. It took a lot of exercise, but IT CAN BE DONE. Keep it up and very best luck to you. You're an inspiration to us - please let us know how you get on.
I'm deeply impressed....πππ Well done. xxx
wow Nanny you are a superstar! I do hope that it all pays off and you avoid the oxygen.
Thanks a lot ,

Well done Nanny 1086! I have just finished pulmonary rehab and I feel quite invigorated. I'm even going for walks, only short ones but the plan is to start off with achievable distances and then build up.
I fell into the bad habit of just sitting about for far too long, reluctant to do anything but thanks to the pulmonary staff my energy levels have increased and I'm going to try my hardest to continue to enjoy exercising
