I use hypertonic saline in my nebuliser. Doubt you'd get enough salt with a salt lamp.
we have one, bought because we had heard a lot about them but can honestly say that despite it being on all day, every day, we have noticed absolutely no difference
We have one but the lamp part corroded so now have a nice salt block. Pete never noticed any difference at all so it just sits in the cupboard. We also have a catalytic lamp for cleaning the air and if you don't like fragrance you can get a neutral oil to use which is better. I quite like that as I feel the air is then better for Pete to breathe. You can also get house plants that help with that. xxxx
Well they have a very imaginative list of claims. It's salt, so if you wish to see if it makes a difference just put some table salt in a bowl.
Vicki I feel it might be more helpful for you to ask your consultant when you visit if she/he feels nebulising saline may be beneficial for you. There is isotonic saline 0.9% which is the same strength as is in all our bodily fluids, but some people find helpful. I personally don't but do find nebulising hypertonic saline works very well. It comes in three strengths 3%, 6% and 7%. I normally use 7% but if my asthma is tricky or I am near the end of a course of abs and have less gunk, then I will then use 3% or 6%. It works by osmosis draing fluid into the lungs and so helps to loosen the gunk so aiding with physio.
Sorry I have no experience of salt lamps.

i had a salt pipe a few years back .
A few of us on here bought them; I found it made no difference but very pretty and made a lovely door-stop all through the summer!
Sadly it has the reverse effect with my condition making me much worse. Emphysema and COPD severe. Some people swear by them! I cannot use salt nebuliser either.
I've got one but there's been no dramatic difference in my condition. However, it is nice to look at so I'm happy with it, and, who knows ... it may be doing something!
I would say if you can easily afford one, try it, but if you have to save your pennies for it, have a nice meal out instead! It'll probably do you just as much good.
