Hi Kaz, welcome to the forum.

If you type 'salt pipes' in the search box (above right) it will bring up previous threads on the subject, which will give you lots of information, as well as a good mix of opinions on their effectiveness.

Good luck with your research :-)

Hi I use a salt pipe and do find it helpful, it was discovered by the fact that salt miners very rarely suffered from chest infections, you will also find some doctors give saline solution for use in nebulisers, so one would have thought on that basis a salt pipe would help. If you decide to buy just a tip most have a small rubber stopper over a hole in the middle, if this comes out or get lost just place some tape over hole, but prevention being better than cure, just put some duct tape over the stopper when you receive your pipe,

I recently bought a salt pipe which has a life of 5 yrs (normal use). I understand there are others available that require you to buy salt to recharge with, but that's only what I've been told.

I think the salt pipe is a good investment. It does seem to help to shift stubborn mucous. I must admit, I don't use it every day, just now and again when I think about it and have the time to sit quietly with it, but when I do use it it seems beneficial and I always tell myself I should make it part of my daily routine.

I got mine from Salt Space in Hove, Sussex.

Welcome to the site!
