Hi,I’ve just gone on ambulatory oxygen.getting accustomed to it slowly.

I can’t get my wig to stay on,luckily hair has grown quite a bit,so have left it off for now.

Also struggling with handbag or lack of.

Have tried just taking payment cards out or just putting my purse in my pocket, has anyone got any tips, nothing has been successful up to now ,Thanks.

Ha Ha never, ever, although i am receding a bit i will never partake of the syrup even if i have to transplant my armpit hair to compensate. :) x

p.s i could just wrap scruffy round my balding temple and be an instant tabby man.

Wigs and handbags are a girl thing and will probably for ever remain a mystery to you Skis.sruffs,as a lady will understand.

Oxygen is helping, but when I’m doing something I get tangled in the tubing. At least it provides some entertainment for himself !

Tell me about it,that tubing has a mind of it's own, especially the extended 50ft of it i have which has often pulled me back from the garden when i least expect it. :)

Can I ask where you get 50 feet length from ?

skischool profile image
skischool in reply toOshgosh

yes just ask your oxygen provider and they should supply,it's normaly reserved for static concentrators but i imagine as it's like ordering canulas and just an accessory they will probably deliver one?

Hi Oshgosh, I use a bum bag or a shoulder bag going across the body. Good news on the hair and won't take long to get the hang of things Oxygen wise x

This is why women’s clothes need more pockets!!!!! I hate not having pockets in trousers, just those stupid pretend ones!!

I use a cross the body bag, I did try a nice posh backpack style handbag but used to get in a right tangle. When I’m out with my husband he carries my oxygen so I’m hands free so to speak although it does confuse the people that try to walk between you and don’t see the tubing!!!

Hi Oshgosh,

I used to carry a bum bag with me around my waist, or when I still had one😉😁🤗

I too, had a 50ft or very long tubing which you can order when they bring you supplies!

Sending great vibes to you🤗🎈🎊💐♥️❗

Greetings

Did I never tell the story of when we took out young Lab for his first proper walk? We set off round the lake at Clumber Park and my cylinder got heavier and heavier so I asked himself if he'd carry it.

The pup spotted a cow pat and ran for it, hell for leather. Husband gave chase -- dragging me along by my ears and nose. We never did that again!

Definitely a smallish light weight across the body bag. Handbag just something else to carry and look after. Joy x

I have a trolley bag which holds the oxygen cylinder, pockets for my phone, tissues, keys, purse and the things I would have had in a handbag. I pull the trolley bag around and I bought it from Amazon a few years ago for £100 and then my oxygen provider gave me one as a trial.

Why not ask if they have one you can have.

All the best x

Hello Oshgosh , 👋😊

Although the oxygen company provided me with two bags for the tanks that fit onto the trolley, I found they had no storage area. So I got a tank bag custom made. Best decision ever. I could get my purse, make up and a few other nick knacks in it so I had to carry very little. As for the wigs, since you said your hair is growing, Nioxin shampoo may be the way. I used it when my hair started to fall out after transplant. I know many who use it with success.

Love,

Cas xx 🙋🐕

Thanks for the suggestion about the bag.

The oxygen nurse suggested cannabilising a rucksack.

It could be a possibility to make a bag with abit of storage.

Thanks

My friend also had a reaction to it. 😞 I think it will grow back. Most people's do, it takes about a year I think. xx 👋

It’s much better than it was,it’s denser,.i didn’t lose my hair,it just when very thin and ribish

.the rheumatologist said it was typical lupus hair.

My daughter bought me a metal wallet for me a few years ago. It protects my cards from being cloned. I put it in my handbag but am sure one would fit in your pocket. Think she bought it from Amazon.

That’s a good idea.

I may have one in my gift box.

Hi. Just seen your post. I use a shopper for my oxygen bottle. Carry it over my shoulder and can have purse and other bits and pieces with me. I feel it's easier to use as shopper under your arm and accessible. Hope things get easier for you.

Thanks, think it will get better as I become accustomed to it.
