alternative to dairy
There are several alternatives: Oat milk, Rice milk, Almond Milk, Soya Milk. Unfortunately the only way to see which one you like best (or at all) is to try them. I like all of them, but do not use in tea or on cereal. Happy hunting.
We have quite a few in our family who have to be dairy free, lots of substitutes available now. biggest gripe is that one litre of anything has to bought. It would be good to buy smaller quantities. To prevent the soya milk from separating in coffee is to mix the coffee and milk together before adding the hot water. I wish cafes knew that.Polly x
Hi dairy doesn't produce more mucus but what it does do is make it thicker and harder to cough up. Drinking more water will help as this will thin it down. x
I use almond breeze sweetened--don't like soy--coconut good--but almond seems to be the most creamy like--good luck--MmeT
I have hazelnut milk on cereals but I wouldn't recommend it for tea.
Good morning marlee,
I'm not quite sure if this would help, but you know the dried milk powder you can buy - I don't know if it is fat free, but I have it reconstituted with water on weetabix. You can actually get used to it honestly and can make exactly how much you need. I now have the tiniest drop of milk in my tea, it's not worth mentioning and it seems a fresher taste now rather than clogging me up.
Best wishes.
I love almond milk. Carol
