has anyone tried Yoga to help with their COPD, and if so was it helpful. I am thinking of trying it but would like to hear the views of any other people who are doing it, or have tried it

All exercise helps. I do various breathing exercises first thing in the morning and they all come from yoga.

I have been doing basic yoga exercises for over 30 years. Just 10 mins about 5 times a week. Takes a bit longer now because of the severe COPD but I think it is important not just for the breathing but it also keeps your joints supple. Never could really manage the meditation for too long as I have a grasshopper mind.

Take care

Thanks, I might give yoga a try

I have half an hour on the exercise bike in the evening, and have a pilates disc for "Older Dummies" I enjoy that most days when I can fit it in. I went to Yoga many years ago and used to really enjoy it.

Thanks Jennifer, I have a walking machine, but can only do three or four minutes on it, so would like to have some other form of exercise as well

I find the exercise bike is good. When I cannot walk far i.e. 100 metres because of sob I find I can do 20 minutes on the bike. It monitors heart rate and gives me a score at the end. So if the score stays good I feel brilliant.
