Yes I have renalina, I take .. Serranol which contains Serapeptese.admitted not for lungs but for Diverticuler problems, I have been taking it for 6 months now, afer 20 years my. condition has improved 50 per cent. I only wish My husband had taken it when he was so ill with IPF. If you google it, you will see that it is recommended for lung problems. We knew about it then but because he was taking so many pills we thought it best not to take any more. A decision I will always regret,it won't do you any harm, Speak with your Doctor if you are worries about taking.Beat wishes Bulpit

I believe it to be used primarily for its anti-inflammatory properties. I've been taking it for a couple of months - not sure it's made any difference!

I know it gets rid of plaque in arteries, because they wanted to do surgery on my brother and he started taking serrapeptase and within three months there was no plaque in his arteries at all his cardiologist was absolutely amazed

Do you think taking serrapeptase has to clean out plaque before effects can be seen for the lung benefits

Dedalus, Renalus mentioned in post below that Serrapeptase clears out the plaque in arteries, do you think taking it that it has to clean out the plaque before effects can be seen for the lung benefit? Just curious...

There was a similar discussion three years ago on this site. Just block and paste the following in google, and you'll come back onto the HU site to read the comments and alternatives people were taking.

Has any one been on carbocisteine 375mg

Good luck,

Hello, I tried Serrapeptase some years ago for about a year, quite high dose but felt no benefit whatsoever. I understand its best to take it on an empty stomach. I had a discussion with Derek Cummings at the time who was also trying it out but he also came to the same conclusion. I suspect the good reviews are put out by the people involved in selling it, it's not cheap. Best regards, JoHarr

Science Based Medicine concludes that enzyme treatments are generally worthless. sciencebasedmedicine.org/sy... ...."There is also the interesting case of the enzyme serrapeptase, also sold as an anti-inflammatory. Sold by the pharmaceutical company Takeda since 1968 for asthma, bronchitis, and touted as an enzyme anti-inflammatory for a large number of other uses, it was withdrawn from the Japanese market in 2011, after double-blind trials concluded that it had no therapeutic effects."

I have been taking 600mg of nac every morning for 2 years. Definitely help keep mucus down. When I stopped it came back. For me, I have had great success with nac.

I have been bad with my copd all week.really breathless and my chest felt heavy in the morning had to cough a few times to get rid of mucus. I took 1 serapeptase last night slept great could breath through my nose (think it cleared my sinuses woke up this morning and my chest did not feel heavy I felt so much better my breathing is not so laboured. Took 1 this morning and will be taking 1 before bedtime. I know it's only 1 day but I feel so much better. It is recommended for copd so I would recon it's worth a try. Good luck hope it works for you.x
