Have an undiagnosed lung condition - currently having and awaiting numerous resp and heart related tests. Im 33yrs old and work with kids so facing leaving my job to protect myself from the infections the tiny humans like to share with me at work.

Have previous now resolved neck abnormalities but the frequent operations led to an impaired swallow which I have plodded along with for the last 10yrs... until now when in the last year and a half i've been in resus 4 times, hospitalised and treated at home a further 6 times for aspiration pneumonia, each time getting a bit worse and a bit harder to fight - 02 levels in 70s when its bad - and have now been told probable underlying condition or damage to lungs which are making me ill more frequently, relying on home nebs to keep me out of hospital and have 02 monitor that shows i'm frequently running around with 02 levels in the 80s - i'm completely fed up with it.

Being told by ENT likely not all to do with aspirating as swallow tests show no worse with swallowing.

Does anyone have a similar history and a good outcome to this!!! :-(

Thanks

A very warm welcome to you smiler although sorry to hear of your problems.  Best to see the outcome of the results and then you know what you are dealing with.  Please keep in touch with us and let us know the outcome, when I am sure someone with the same diagnosis as you will be able to help.  In the meantime I am hoping for a good outcome for you and we will all support you whatever.

Hi thanks for your reply, will have a look into that. Never heard of it before. Any ideas I'm open to at this point, the GP doesn't know what to do with me and just keeps giving me more Nebs and inhalers when I sound bad. He also gives me antibiotics which I'm sure don't do anything to help!!
