Can pva glue cause chest and lung pain or could it be the weather. I lost my wonderful Mum to copd in October last year. She was 72 and died of co2 poisoning. I was with her when she died and it is only now hitting home just how serious and scarey copd can be. I have moderate copd my Mum was severe. I miss her so much. We used to help each other through times when it got us down. My Mum gave up in the end. I so wish she had been more positive and had a bit more fight in her but she was too tired I think.

I hope someone will come on here very soon and speak to you with good advice. Please don't be scared of copd. I cannot help with your question but I do feel your awful pain at losing your Mum and just wanted to tell you that you aren't alone.

I know dear. Mums teach you the really important lessons in life as well as the practical. She wants you to be strong. xx
Hi I'm not sure about your question I haven't heard of it before but I am in same boat as you I lost my mum to copd aged 61 and I too have it was diagnosed 8 years ago at the age of 37 I miss my mum Every day, she was my best friend, but I intend to keep going as best as I can and stay healthy as possible because I don't want to give up even though on bad days that is so much harder life has its ups and downs but always a shoulder here if you need it xx
I hope someone on this forum will be able to help you with your question, it's very hard losing your mom, but you are being sensible about it all. Maybe you could ask the lung foundation the question. Good luck, and keep reading the posts, they do help.

Hello,
I have just read the chemical safety data sheet for PVA glue.
No Respiratory safety equipment needed, as not hazardous if vapours are inhaled.
Not a known carcinogen.
It seems there should be no problems if it is used as directed.
But.
You have COPD, your lungs are sensitive, so who knows.
The only way you can see, is to use it when you have no pain.
If you get pains soon after use, l would suggest you don't use it again....Although l think you would struggle to find a safer alternative.
I have COPD and Asthma and worked in Science for the last 16 years before retirementment.
I used it daily, both as a glue, and in experiments, and never had any problems with it.

So sorry to hear about your loss LL. Please accept my sympathy. Your mother must have suffered a lot in the end and now she has been released from all this and is at peace. I'm afraid I don't know anything about pva glue, but Velvet's reply seems very helpful.
Best wishes,
I have problems with odours from chemicals and even some 'natural' odours. As far as understand it my lungs are more sensitive now. Sometimes I only have to be near somebody wearing perfume/aftershave and I feel my lungs start to close down or I could just be making my morning coffee and the smell of the brew can hit me.
I have a good quality mask that I can use if I realise something is effecting me and wear it until I am clear of the 'smell' I've stopped being embarrassed if people look at me now, sometimes its a tiring job shuffling around the supermarket without bumping into somebody wearing half a gallon of Channel No5.
I use white vinegar with natural products to make household cleaners, there are a lot of recipes on Pinterest but leave out any essential oils in the recipes.
Make a note of any thing that seems to make things worse for you and then have a chat with your doctor.
Cheers
Sue
Mom had COPD she died 3 years ago like mom I have COPD we are all hear to support and help anyone welcome
Hi , just to say that PVA glue doesn't seem to effect my breathing but it does give me a headache...but I also get headaches with some paints as well.
So sorry about losing your mom, I still miss mine terribly and it has been about 3 years. I'm new to this copd so can't answer your question, I see a pulmonary doctor next week for first time but I get pain under my chest area, or more like tightness than pain and am going to ask him if that is from the copd. Bless you and wishing you strength in this hard time.
