How the hell do George Osbourne expect people to live if he cuts benefits on Wednesday the man is a joke
Pip : How the hell do George Osbourne... - Lung Conditions C...
Pip
I agree with you jeanjt. That is a polite discription of him X
It's disgraceful how, having changed the rules and moved the goalposts once already to cut down on those qualifying for PIP, they are doing it all again because surprise surprise, the genuinely disabled were proving to be in need of it.
Very true SS x
Is disgrace THE pick on those that cant go and kick the ass .. Thats crooks of it
im surprised they don't start building work houses ,
Ah that's probably their next move... x
The already have its called tesco
lol , I been told they aren't to bad to work for but i don't know ,
Well we already have food banks so why not ? please sir can I have some more? Bloody sure you can't, you're not rich enough janx
Well perhaps he wants us all to die from starving, cold and no help he would then have millions don't know why people work all there lives now cause it seems to me no one is supposed to have a social life anymore
I watched that programme Famous Rich and Homeless....where volunteers lived on the streets. The number of people who are deemed to be homeless has increased as has the death rate in the UK
There is another programme on ch4 on Wednesday...Dispatches...which reports on landlords making a fortune from renting poor accommodation to people on housing benefit.
Will be watching, it is scandalous.
Private landlords are the worst. I live in housing association flat and the have a benefit section to help tenants who find it difficult to pay there rent.
It is truly terrible but Osborne and his lot really don't care about us. They will ensure the wealthy are well cared for.
Xxx
Well he probably wants us all to die so he can save money! x
I agree coughalot this will impact my mum and dad so badly
It seems the gap between the rich and poor is widening...like in 1845 when Disraeli wrote Sybil...or Two Nations.
And when Karl Marx wrote Das Kapital in 1867.
I read that this change is to fund the increase in personal allowances for high rate tax payers.
So, having charged me a few quid less on my income (I'm very fortunate to work full time and pay the taxes) he's going to take it from my disability allowances!
I fail to understand why he couldn't LOWER the personal allowances and increase the disability allowance! Most tax payers I know feel the same as I do, that taxes should/must be used to support the more vulnerable in society.
The only good thing I see is that less and less people are taken in by the "benefits scroungers" claims that the government tried to peddle a couple of years ago!
the benefit scrounger image isn't helped by the benefit programes , where half the street are up drinking half the night , or the ones who were on a few months ago running round then say they get high rate dla , or the woman with all the kids who spends £100s on her kids for Christmas and birthdays , must up set working people who are just managing to keep a roof over their head , with nothing left for luxuries ,
I just haven't the words to express my feelings about this current government. They seem to have ditched the basic tenets of their own party (paternalistic and dubious at that - in my opinion) and unhindered by any restraints of coalition emerged like a reversal of Robin Hood. They seem to have no care for those they are supposed to serve and protect unless those people are in a higher tax bracket. Where is their humanity?
Perhaps they should change their name from the the Conservative Party to the Party of Corporate Self-Interest.
I don't know if the moderator will allow this post, but I do feel strongly and many, many of us surely have enough to deal with already.
Annie x
I was just saying today the same as you have that it is just like a refersal of Robin Hood. When they first announced that Osborn was making the PIP test even harder next year (stuff like if you need a seat for bathing, it will be disregarded - stuff like that) to save money for a tax rise in this budget, I was astonished it was mentioned briefly in the news. On the review of the papers it was not mentioned at all. They spent ages on the BBC on a pie topped with potato winning a best pie competition when in their opinion it should be pastry and they even had a 'phone in. Does anyone really give a toss about the easy target disabled and chronically sick. Nor was it even mentioned on Qustion Time.
I wrote to my MP who is Labour ages ago about the Tories changing the goal posts with regard to PIP and although he was sympathetic blah de blah he couldn't promise Labour could overturn it. I would never ever not vote but I am fast running out of anyone I would choose. Defo not the Tories though. Does make you wonder now how much the Lib Dems pulled them back when you consider what they have done since.
When it came to DLA by their own figures there was 0.5% fraud so how can they justify clawing back millions from the vulnerable. A disgrace Mr. Bean.
ESA too £30 a week. Cruelty from the Flashman brigade.
cx
Hi cough drop, George Osborne was on the Andrew Marr show this morning....I will watch it later on I player to see what he said.
I have written to my Labour MP about Attendance Allowance ...I wonder if that will be mentioned in the budget this time.
A friend of mine was born with Spina Bifida...used to work part time , and is fiercely independent and tries to walk without a stick...I guess this will count against her when she is reassessed.
I've reached the point where I'm so disgusted by Osbourne and Cameron that I can't stand seeing their faces on tv anymore, never mind listening to them. I'm totally sickened by both of them and that's not something I'm proud to admit since it probably makes me seem prejudiced or small minded. I'm normally open minded enough to listen to all sides but I'm sick of their arrogant ways, and have had enough of their policies.
Oh I stopped being able to bear their ugly fat mugs years ago Magpuss! x
Know what you mean, but I kept thinking 'I must be missing something, there must be something that I've misunderstood'. I've found it incredibly difficult to believe that those who are supposed to lead this country are either unable to see what 'to me' is obvious - or so detached from the rest of us that they really don't care, especially as they need us to vote for them. I've always been more inclined to believe that it's me that doesn't understand, and me that must have got things wrong - not anymore tho'. I also used to think that well educated people were intelligent........and guess what, I've been wrong about soooo many things. Still, you're never too old to learn.
So........ let's do the maths.....hypothetical figures. ......Benefit £130. partial rent, partial h/b £50. gas lec water £20. Phone, tv, tv lic. £20. food, £20, house ins, £10, £10 for emergencies such as hospital visits. Total £130. Oh said the government lets take 30 quid off them. £100 to pay out £130 in bills, sorry when I went to school that would not add up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (oooops! too many exclamation marks, naughty naughty say the government ) janx
Hi the trouble is the less people have to manage on, the more they have to be financial genius's to pay their bills and stretch their meagre income. When inevitably they aren't they are blamed for it. Individual guilt rules now.. x
I'm having to finish working in august because the job is getting to hard with my copd so I'm terrified about I'm going to live on will apply for whatever I can get,but Mr Osborne is making it harder for everyone.
Hi Titchy 52, understand your concern, the future for the vulnerable looks bleak. The only way seems to be try to find a less demanding job, but having been that route myself in the past, it is not easy and the new rules make it harder still. You have my best wishes that everything works out for you, think carefully and take care, many are already suffering from the welfare changes without the thought of this weeks budget changes added.
It's time for a revolution if only we had the breath!!!!!! He should try living our lives. x
If you join 38 degrees, you will get a chance to be part of a massive movement against this so called governments never ending austerity plague. They continue to make the poorest and most vulnerable pay for the wealthy to enjoy not paying for anything. It is not even working,Gideon Osbourne can,t count he loses money left right and centre. With any luck the stupid bickering in the Tory party over Europe will destroy the party of the very far right. We the older generation are the ones to vote out these scum I am not telling any one who to vote for but please don,t vote for these monsters, they are selling off everything we have paid for through our taxes to line their own pockets.Amazing I have managed all that and not use any swear words.D.
if he is a joke he is a bad one xxx
The latest today.......
There is a new saving scheme aimed at the low paid, you have to be in receipt of working tax credits or other benefit and working
You have to commit £50 a month for 2 years and the government will give you a bonus, if you commit for 4 years they will give you more of a bonus.
Now if you are on a low wage could you commit £50 a month ?
Am I right in thinking that if you have too much money in the bank...hahaha
They will take a benefit away?
I had to sell my house last year and I am living on the sale of my house I moved into a flat last March and I don't work as I had to give it up I can't get a job now because of my health and have to wait until I have used up the money before I can apply for any benefit most benefits you can't claim if you have savings over 16 thousand the only one that is not means tested is pip
I think it's a joke people work hard to get nice things and the government don't give a damn
There are bad landlords and good landlords. There are good tenants and bad tenants. Lets not forget that labour spent money like it was going out of fashion, simply so that people would vote for them. Have as many kids as you like, we will pay you more and more and more and more. The tide has turned, it couldnt go on. Its just a shame that osborne has to push his luck too far, not content with robbing 60 year old women of their pension, he now has to start on the disabled? What is this world coming too....... and I hope we leave the eu, I want my country back. Despite rubbish governments, I used to be proud of being british, and still am. We are not the same as norway etc., we are the fifth biggest economy in the world. I want to be proud again, and not governed by faceless bureacrats who cant deal with the migrant crisis because they are too busy worrying about how much output our vacuum cleaners have. Rant over. Thanks for reading this. Good health to all.
