Back to the doctor.

When I left hospital on the 8th the doctor told me that I should be back to work within a week but my GP would be able to give me another week should I need it. I did. .... and more. This is my third week and I've been given another fortnight.

My GP told me that my recovery could take anywhere between 3 to 6 weeks and that the cold weather will make things later rather than sooner and not to rush.

I honestly can't believe that the hospital doctor told me a week to a fortnight. I could have struggled back and ended up in a worse state than I was to begin with. In my profession it would have had serious consequences and the potential for fatalities.

Thank goodness for your GP Feisar. Do take your time to get well. Hope you will be able to go back to work soon. Xxx

Take it easy and get better soon.

Doesn't surprise me at all! Hospital doctors don't see patients after they're discharged so frequently have no idea about recovery times. Thank goodness you've got a sensible GP.

I wouldn't even think about it until you're six weeks from when you were discharged. Rest, relax and allow your body to heal. Sue x
