The way this doctor consulter acted was like a clown.
So I went to another hospital who also said...YOU GOT COPD. AND IT'S BELOW 50%...gave me Seretide 50/250 and a big bag of other medicines. Told me to come back in one month.
I stop smoking that day.
When I went back I told the doctor that something was wrong with my nose and I could not breath very good as it was blocked.
Said it was probably an allergy.
And I got an even bigger bag of medicines.

Have to cook for the children be back to finish this book later.
After 2 ..3 weeks my nose was getting so bad I went back to the first hospital to see a GP not chest consulted.
On seeing her she looked up nose said I should take this and that and see her again next week.
and she sent me to have another lung test as I told her that I was not happy with the last test one at 50%..
After the test I was taken to see the chest doctor. .. who said that there was improved lung capacity and now I was at about 70%..I swear did not look happy. .I think he was still pissed of with me for not buying he's book.
I then told him that I had been to another hospital who had given me Seretide what did think...said that they were the same thing but made in different countries.
He didn't want to know about my nose as he was a chest doctor. This story gets longer and longer.
4 weeks later and another expensive merry go round I got some where regarding my nose.....
In the last 4 week it seems that my blood pressure has been very high.
I get allergy blocked nose all the time, told meds won't work as I am on stronger stuff that's why, I didn't know you can go to different hospitals,as what I have experienced in this county I am in is Diagnose Discharge Death!!! It seems to me society is very negative it's about money not positive care!!!!so what is your point? Good you stopped smoking like that, but not everyone is affected like that,I stopped and felt worse so it differs.
Am sorry that I do find it hard to make myself clear.
I live in Thailand so there no
N H S so you have to pay.
The point I thought I was making is that doctors put so much down to allergies but can never tell you what allergy is coursing the problem. ...i e my blocked nose.
I don't understand when you say you are on discharge death.
Hi wedderburn, what a merry go round you have been on and it doesn't want to stop to let you get off does it. The problem with chest/breathing problems is you get given medication for one thing that can then trigger something else. I sometimes think that Pete's problems are caused by all the drugs he is on. Pain killers for that, blood pressure pills for HBP, steroids, antibiotics......the list is endless.
Luckily Pete has had very good treatment and is under the Royal Brompton for his breathing and heart problems. Each day brings something new, now he has really bad scaly patches on his legs and his left food and ankle are swollen. What will tomorrow bring? Who knows!
You take care and don't let doctors or anyone fob you off. Good luck to you and hope things improve.
Hope you are well. Am I right in thinking that you live in the Far East? This is none of my business and you can tell me so. But I was intrigued by your nasal problems. Have you been diagnosed with sino-bronchial disease? I came across it when I was researching Obliterative Bronchiolitis, (regular Sunday afternoon hobby of mine!). As I read about it I thought that sounds like Andy.
Staphylococcus coagulase negative. .This is the name of the bacteria that was found up my nose. ...I had a specialist in bacteria to explain all about it to me.
At first I thought I was at last am special.
But she then spoilt it by telling me that we have this bacteria we have it all over body's but it's never a problem.
So why is it got like this in my nose I ask.
probably an allergy she say...
Ho I have an allergy......but jump in to say yes I know you are allergic to 3 shell fish....and hamster's. ...
what you talking about doc...what hamster's.
After going round the hospital to shake hands with a few other specialist I got back to my first nose specialist who told me to........
Hmmmm.... All this talk about different and conflicting medications makes me feel --- for the first time ---- actually relieved that there absolutely NOTHING that I can take for my two conditions as there is no inflammation, infection, no cough, mucus production. Just scarring.... But it is hard because there is no relief of symptoms. No one can believe when I am struggling to breathe every evening that there is no inhaler that I can take. In that respect it is more like pulmonary fibrosis.
May I ask what that strange, dangling thing is in you posting? Or shouldn't I ask?
I just left a reply but it vanished... Thanks for enquiring, much appreciated. I read all the posts but I failed to spot your dangler. How rude does that sound?
I have had a busy week so that I haven't put much on here.
I f you want to see why it was busy look at my new post.
Don't know if this will help you (and apologies if it sounds gross), but whenever my nose feels odd I make a warm brine solution of some salt in a couple of litres of warm water, and snort it up my nose through my sinuses to clean them. It does seem to help me, even when my sinuses are a bit blocked.
The docs are probably right,I do understand what your talking about!,!!!. It is a allergy, the docs here are to lazy to look into allergy that's why, they want to label everyone with COPD.its easier for them. I'm sure mine is an allergy not emphsema through smoking......what a cop out!!!?
