Severe copd
Hi Jay that's awful and I am so sorry. Are you in USA? If so wouldn't you qualify for Medicaid? Or the Obama Health Plan? I don't know of anything which you could take instead but others might. I just thank God for the NHS here. x
What meds are you on? Less expensive generic versions may be available . . .
Hi jayy, is there a pharmacist you could talk to & get advice about your meds?
I live in Scotland so I don't know anything about health care in USA.
I hope you get the help you need 🌻
Hi Jayy - my sympathy, you are very young to be at the severe stage.
When i was on the EFFORTS website (Emphysema Foundation For Our Right To Survive) which is based in the U.S. lots of the members used All Day Chemists in India to get affordable versions of their medications. You could either look up their website (the chemists i mean) or join Efforts and ask their members about ordering from ADC. I was a member when i was first dxd fifteen years ago - there may be other outlets by now, but ADC seemed very tried and tested.
Good luck
I've heard of something called needymeds. It's a website which has coupons and stuff to help with costs, I think.
I am very sorry to hear that. If you go to the website of the drug manufacturer some of them have programs to provide assistance to those that are in a situation like you are in. I don't know what drugs you take but you should be able to find them and check to see if they have any assistance available.
I am in the USA but a lot of the companies that have meds like Advair, (I believe it is called something else in Britain, but forgot what it is), have programs to get it free.
Could help more knowing what country you live in.
Hi Jayy......try salt therapy ..that's inhaling Himalayan pink salt thru a ceramic pipe and oil of oregano..... Both of these treatments I am doing after much researching on the internet about each one......was tired of only existing and not living life. I feel it is working ( at least for me).....Research them for yourself ..Best of luck to you.
Hi dknapier! Just wanted to comment on the salt-thing, I'm using a block with candles...seems like the candles just burn too quick though. If you are looking for 'alternative' remedies, you might want to look at simply a change of diet...no one much here talks about that.
I don't like the idea of living on medication so I'm doing better by following a book,"The Allergy and Asthma Cure" by Fred Pescatore.
I realize that it's hard to beat modern medicine for instant results, but it's worth a try if you have the time.
All the best to you...
