Turmeric update 3?

Hi All

Yeah i know, starting to feel like a Rocky sequel but i know some out there are still skeptical about the benefits of taking Turmeric on a daily basis so:

Yesterday i found a web site which is dedicated to Turmeric: turmericlife.com.

Check it out, very interesting. Did not realise that Turmeric only stays in the system for 6-8 hours, so i am upping my dosage to 3 times daily.

One of the problems i had found with taking my daily Turmeric with my fruit/veg smoothies is that the Turmeric and black pepper would not fully dissolve, so i would be adding extra honey just to mask the taste. Also a bit of guesswork on the amount of powder and pepper ( don't think i was taking enough pepper). If you go to the web site there is a recipe for making a " golden paste" which is used for dogs and horses too. Took me in all about 15 minutes to prepare and mix, once cooled put in the fridge. This morning added nearly one teaspoon of the paste to my smoothie and could hardly taste anything. Can be added to soups, hot milk etc, 2-3 times a day.

I have enough paste in the fridge for at least 2 weeks.

Give it a try.

Merv

Morning Swerv, I realised this morning when a friend asked me, that i don't know whether turmeric is a effective when it is cooked. Guess you must have come across this, though i know that you put yours into a smoothie.

All best x

Yes very effective when cooked. Though they do recommend that it's heated gently, as in the method for the Golden Paste recipe

Thanks Dorris :)

As Dorris states, when cooked it is on simmer only. Had a teaspoonful with my smoothie this morning, could not taste anything.

Turmeric is used in Indian recepies so cooking is not a problem.

You can freeze the paste. For those who gate the taste, like me, you can use old, empty blister packs. Freeze the paste in those, then swallow whole, as you would a tablet, but obviously you'd need to take quite a number of them. Many who can't stomach it do this. You can also use silicone ice cube trays and take them out of the freezer as needed.

I read some where that the USA tried to patent it! Then they could say they invented the new super drug and charge their usual fortune for a natural remedy.

BTW I cannot get to the link?

I see it might not help those on warfarin as it can thin it even more? I am on a high level as it is? Range 2.5 to 3.5 3.0 ideal.

Yes that's correct they did try that and other things. Big pharma and Corporations are trying to take over everything. The EU, which is ruled by Corporations, even tried to stop people collecting their own seeds off plants. Google it. Beyond belief!
