That's because there isn't any. The allegation is false. The 'racism' exists entirely in the minds of those making the allegation.
As I posted on another thread, all the petition says in effect is that if the government can afford to spend so much on, among other things, welfare for the rest of the world, then it can afford to take proper care of British pensioners. It contains no suggestion that the non-British recipients of the government's generosity are to blame for its neglect of poverty-stricken pensioners.

Hello Jimmy. I think you were lazing about in hospital when this petition first came up 
It (and Graham's deleted post) states that "Migrants receive more than our Pensioners". As many people pointed out, this is untrue. Migrants get about £35pw. Making misleading statements like that might be interpreted as racism, but in any event its definitely a cheap shot - by all means argue for pension increases, but don't link it to the payments made to "migrants", or indeed to foreign aid. (The UK spends 0.7% of gross national income on foreign aid, which is the % agreed by UN in 1970.) Robin

without getting myself too involved i am finding this hard to understand,
"Shocked" says it was the "same statement" yet saying or stating "migrants receive more than our pensioners" i can only deem as racist , and misleading. etc ?
so this wording must have been changed, even though shocked said it wasn't ?
so what is the truth,!!!
i believe robin would tell me the truth, so i believe him entirely.

This in itself is wrong. this part has nothing to do with racism, only to do withe blf forum, a deleted post should not e posted a second time.end of.
At the moment my mind is on an important hospital appointment tomorrow. this is MY main concern now.

Jimmy mate, don't give all this another thought. Takes all sorts etc! As shocked1 rightly says, life's too short. All that matters is your rheumy appointment. I can tell youre much loved jimmy so everyone wants the best for you. What I want to know is, if the chest doc wants to stop the anti-tnf, what is he intending to replace it with, you obviously need it. But then, what do I know. Oh well lets see what happens tomorrow! I take offence that people think I'd post anything with racism involved.

God forbid that in our own country we should say anything derogatory against the massive influx of Immigrants we have every year, or about foreign aid to countries that can afford to put rockets into space .
Charity begins at home.......and it's not even charity, we've worked all our lives for it, and to expect a pensioner to live on the State pension of £150.00 per week-for EVERYTHING - is a disgrace.

Oh yes I do, and I will say whatever I want to! I do not shout from the roof tops or join protests etc., But I will voice my opinion if the occasion arises and those who don't like it don't have to listen. We are all entitled to our own opinion and it's not for anyone else to object to it - unless it's given or used in a malicious way.

Graham can I correct you here, what your original post, &your petition, says is that "Migrants receive more than our Pensioners". That isn't true is it. Now tho, you're talking about cost to the taxpayer, which is quite a different matter! Pensioners don't just get pensions we get health care, winter fuel, free glasses, bus passes, maybe help with housing etc, quite right of course. If you're going to compare the two groups you must do so honestly, like for like, otherwise im afraid it does seem you have a racist axe to grind. Rob

Shocked, I was just replying to jimmy, graham, stilltruckin and nikkers, on points relevant to your post. I thought, given the controversial nature of the post, you would expect a robust debate, and I do like a debate! I dont think you can expect to censor who joins in & what they say here, provided its polite and reasonable.
Nevertheless, if you prefer me not to address you again, I wont - but I find you telling me to have my say elsewhere a bit hurtful if I'm honest. I didnt intend to cause trouble and if I have inconvenienced you I apologise. R

When I joined this site I joined to get help and advise on my lung condition, Some people write witty, funny, interesting posts which I love to read. If I want to read racist posts which on reading a few days ago was what I believed it to be, I can go elsewhere. Please can we keep this site as it was when I joined in December, now every couple of weeks there seems to be arguments of one sort or another.
If the petition / post WAS racist in ANY WAY. It would've been removed. I believe it was what was said regarding that POST why it was removed. Thank you for taking the time to add to this post.
Hi guys. .I think that most of you know that I live in Thailand. Have done for the last 8 years.
One thing that I have always noticed is that the only people who can afford to live here on there pension come from countries like Germany. .Norway. .Sweden. ..its well known that UK pension are low in comparison to other develop countries. I don't think that was racist in making that comparison.
I don't feel there was any need to make a comparison between the pension and the migrants in order to reinforce your case of injustices to the the pensioners.
Most people wouldn't see any racist element in the petition. ..doesn't mean it's not there.
