Thank you everyone who responded to my plea for help over this feckin' anxiety...I'll ask the Consultant rather than the Doctor because the Consultant has brought the subject up before...she does seem to recognise the amount of stress we live under when suffering from COPD.
And thank you all for leaving interesting comments about the migrant and refugee crisis...I was heavily involved with the Vietnamese Boat people when many were housed in an old RAF base close to where we lived in Norfolk...the appalling privations they had suffered to reach safety beggared belief...
Now I'll have a think about something cheerful to write about after stirring the Hornet's nest yesterday.

You did conjur up some very interesting debates there Vashti and that is not a bad thing. Makes us all think. I hope you do get to chat to someone soon about your anxiety as that is not nice for you or Himself.
Nay vashti, not a hornet`s nest ! It`s good for us to debate issues - makes us feel at least our brains are still working. Well I hope mine is but yesterday I got to the bus stop across the road and found I was still wearing my slippers ! Off for my flu jab this morning. I often end up in hospital with pneumonia a couple of weeks after having this so fingers crossed, keep well, Sheila x
Try taking a St. John's Wort capsule (or tablet) before embarking on scrip drugs - works for me. One a day and available Amazon or e-bay if not stocked in Ireland - they've got some funny prohibitions over there - for a variety of reasons.
