Damp weather

The weather here has been a constant damp drizzle with humidity in the upper 90's all day and looking at the forecast with plenty more of the same to come.

Does anyone else find it makes their breathing much more difficult? I struggle in the heat as well but the damp is just awful

Hi. Yes, hospitals report a rise in A&E cases increase greatly. Ambos report higher call outs, and GPs also see a much larger number of calls for home visits during spells of high temperature. There are also sadly a higher rate of pulmonary deaths. Dont know about the high humidity as we never have that in the UK 😁

Thank you for the quick reply. I think the high humidity 94 % at the moment in Nottingham is due to the heavy damp air, am going to try to get to bed now in the hope of a better day tomorrow as I do worry so much but now I know its not just me who finds the damp a problem I feel some what reassured Thank you

Oh wow. I didn't realise that you were so close. Just as long as we don't get more storms like last Mon. My PA drove me home from Nottingham then. Had been to Sytner for a free service and MOT. The rain on the way home was torrential. We were doing 15 mph at one point on the Ring Road.

Sleep well Anne.

The Ring Road is a nightmare for flooding given the amount of money that has been spent on it esp Valley Rd area. I am just the other side of the City Hospital where the gangsters used to run the estate.lol Nice now though.

I was born in Nottingham, I left the area over forty years ago but I can remember bronchitis being an annual event for my dad and sometimes a twice yearly event for myself. I've not had it once since leaving the Trent valley.

I hope you'll soon be feeling better.

I find im better in the rain than I am in the heat or very cold weather but I think we are all different

Rain is generally OK because all the humidity is in the rain drops I guess?

I don't mind rain, damp or cold weather but when the humidity is high it does affect me.

I think it is pretty much universal. Breathing trouble is always worse when hot or high humidity.

My breathing is the least of my difficulties though. Rib

Yes, I struggle too at both ends of the weather spectrum. I have a dehumidifier for the house - we live in an old converted barn so we do get bad condensation and it does clear that too - oh and dries the clothes when it is too damp to put them on the line!

Cold, damp weather gets to me, however I have been lucky to holiday in Mexico a couple of times and the humidity seemed to help me there
