I have seen my rheumatologist and respiratory doc this week. I feel so bad today- pains in chest and legs and hips, headache and not sleeping or eating and coughing blood. I want an injection to put me to sleep forever.

I didn't feel too good this morning, found it very hard to breath, quite frightening couldn't get my medication quick enough. Not too bad now, still in my nice cool pj's and with the fan on full blast. I know how hard it is having a painful illness along with lung problems but please don't get too disheartened, it's a beautiful world we live in. Looking for the good and positive things in your life will make you feel better, it may be hard when you're feeling low but you will find things if you look hard enough, when you do hang on to those thoughts and they will help you through. Sending hugs and love..........Vicki x

Dear amg

No wonder you feel this way - having lung issues and rheumy flares going on at the same time is horrid and the pain is so draining. Are you seeing the doc about the coughing up blood? I really hope the pain you are having at present eases and your sleeping and lungs improve and you soon find yourself in a better space.

Love and lots of healing hugs.

Thanks for the message- it does help to have a moan on here. Feel a bit better, just a banging headache. done Nothing today. Ct scan and x-ray only showed bronchiectasis. I have an appointment with doc.

All the best to you. xx

If you have bronchiectasis the blood most likely means that youare having an exacerbation (flare up of infection). You will need a sputum test ASAP to isolate the bug and start immediately on antibiotics. Make sure you get the crap up. I do feel for you because bronchiectasis can totally wipe you out and coughing up blood is frightening. On top of that you have another painful condition. It is very lowering but I find that the best way to fight the blues is fight back. Get to the docs and get those antibiotics. Holding your hand xx

Thanks for the message. bug has been isolated- pseudomonas. Been on antibiotics since December. Have weekly sputum tests. Saw doc at hospital today and on some more as well as the on-going nebulised Colomycin.

yesterday was an exacerbation of rheumatoid arthritis AND bronchiectasis ( caused by the RA) my joints were on fire. Silly diseases! feel better today!!!!!

I am a fighter and talking on here helps- so big thank yous to all. I will explore all avenues to be at least the best that I can.

I am holding your hand. xx

I'm glad you feel better today. We are all great fighters but some days are more challenging than others. Good luck with the pseudomonas. My constant companion, the little begger!

Thanks. How do you cope with it?

I am confused about all my conditions- doc asked if I had Asthma- well? how do I know??

not sleeping well, wake up with tight chest and pain and have to take paracetomol and inhaler. Pseudos still there and on inhaled and tablet antibio's.

3 goals I have: one good nights sleep, one day without pain and a good cry ( no tears as I have dry eyes)

I wish you well and thanks again for advice. You guys on here are a comfort and make sense.

xx

After 20 years of rhinitis I have just found out that I have Staphylococcus aureus in my nose, which has been dripping down into my lungs and caused the pneumonia/ pseudomonas! I think I also have asthma. My condition is not well controlled and am seeing my GP next week with a long list of questions.

what difference is the treatment of asthma as opposed to bronchiectasis?

Totally confused.
