So true Ruby. x
That is so very true in this day and age. Bui I never looked at it as a privilege. i suppose it depends how many ailments you have in old age, and what mobility your body can still undertake.
"Awe Ruby..Yes!!...So true...But i speak for myself..sadly..But i am loving being Old.....But i am a big believer in "Never Say Never!"..Never give up just cause we dont know Yet...whats around the corner... I Just wish i could been Old ....sooner....lol...sounds daft..But!! i am so loving being my age.....It happened for me...I can now SHOUT!! it Out......"I am in love"....So Embrace every single moment..Ni Ni's to you all..Ruby!... Hoping your looking after yourself and taking care...xx Megan..."
Gotta say Megan..... Don't think too many people are glad to be old. You got the best of both worlds. Young at heart and in love! Don't think your all that old anywayπ Lol What are you- 50?
Let me ask you-- How old would you be if you didn't know your age?
Love Rubyxx π
"Hehehehe Ruby...I dont think i am old.. But thats others perception of anyone over 50..Speaking For myself, age is purely a number... i think "State of Mind"is what determines our age's..Yes Health too..So for me to feel love again, at this stage of my life and all my disabilities and health issues is a "dream come true"....And to answer your question.. i am 70 now ...and the picture you see of me..I was 62..Hoping your doing good Ruby.x.... Megan."
I absolutely agree ruby xxx
Hi ruby - it's made me think it is a blessing and what a stunning lady in the photo. Thanks. Leelee. π―. X
Very true .x
Hello Ruby I love your post, it's so true. I try to enjoy every day, although some are much harder than others. I am 65 going on 19 !
Velvet xx
Yes I agree, waking every morning is a gift of life, long may it continue for us all.
I am 81 and do count my blessings every day. but reaching a certain age for some people can be a burden, not a blessing, so I can find sympathy for those older people.
I sometimes wonder if I am the oldest member of this forum!? Maybe some like to keep their age a secret! I like being retired, the rush to work every day was not something I enjoyed. I love having my family around, and the satisfaction of seeing what kind, sensible and loving people my sons have turned into. and watching the development of my grandchildren. so many blessings, not least being able to say after 59 years of marriage, very lucky to have found my perfect partner through life, long may it continue. Love Iris x
Hi Iris
Sounds like you've had a good life. Age is just a number and really doesn't mean a whole lot.
I have a magnet on fridge that says ....... How old would you be,
If you didn't know how old you are? I have talked to many people in their 60s , 70 and 80 doing all kinds of things. Rollerblading, in bike clubs, hiking up mountains. I'm always amazed at these people and talk to them. 80 isn't what it was years ago. Some people do have many illnesses and life is rough for them. But that can be said also for many younger people . That was a wonderful reply you wrote.

I am 80 years young (ish). Still going reasonably strong. Medical conditions several, 4 Great Grandchildren. Married almost sixty years. Lungs OK, heart needs sorting out, breathing could be better. Perhaps we should meet up and start practising for the next marathon?
Keep well.
How can you say "old" when I'm only sixty-six and three-quarters !
Dec
a good sentiment thank you xx
Amen. It is indeed a privilege to grow older. One of my sisters and youngest brother didn't get the chance.

Malinka
Ruby, it's great. Reminders of days gone by. MY knees and ankles wont allow it now.
