Hell9, my resp cons has put me on prophylactic dose of azithromycin, 3 times a week. Would ppl take this just mon, weds, friday?Thanks, Ckare😊

Honestly it doesnt matter as long as you space them across the week. It could as easily be Thursday / Saturday / Monday ! I quite like having the weekend as free as possible so I too take them Monday / Wednesday / Friday.

Mon, Wed, Fri for my wife for last 5 years. Same day as she has physio session so she does not forget. Generally speaking keeps the worst of the bugs at bay, along with flu and covid vaccine. Tke care, take exercise to make your lungs work. Wife very pleased that last month the managed over 9,000 steps every day. Puts me to shame. Chris.

This antibiotic gave me a terrible sore mouth. I am prone to mouth ulcers which some antibiotics seem to cause, as does NSaid's and an inclusion in toothpaste, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. A job to find toothpaste without it.

Hi claracola, I take mine on tues, thurs,sat as they can upset my stomach a bit. I WFH tues and thurs so just makes dealing with that a bit easier. They haven’t stopped infections but have reduced my Bronchiectasis exacerbations and they have an anti inflammatory properties which helps to reduce secretions. Hope that helps.

In the January before Covid struck, my amazing Consultant rang me and said something like'theres a new virus coming and I want you to take a drug (azithromycin) 3 times a week'. After a lifetime of winter bronchitis, I've not caught a bug ever since.

I take mine on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, first thing in the morning. I was told that you have to allow about an hour after taking one before you eat, so I keep them beside my bed.
