I have COPD and was recently hospitalized. I was diagnosed with exasperation from bronchitis. From chest x-ray they thought I might have small blood clot on lung and did a CT scan. It turned out to be an nodule. They did a comparison to a 2014 CT scan I had and noticed the nodule was enlarged so radiologist wants to repeat in 2-3 months. I didn't think much about it cause I was just happy to breathe and get home. But now starting to worrying and wonder if anyone else has had this. Could it be caused by a infection? They scheduled my appointment 3 months out but wondering if I should go in two? We have had so much cancer in our family and it is always in the back of my mind. Thanks for your help!

Enlarged Nodule on Lung
No idea what going on but believe that if they were really concerned you wouldn't be waiting for another 3 months.
Hope this puts your mind slightly at ease. Natural to be worried but best to see if anything actually significantly wrong.
As you are worried speak to your GP and maybe get a referral to your local Respiratory clinic or to a specialist. It can be an infection so I have been told so it could clear up. I think 2 to 3 months should see if it does. Please speak to your GP and tell him of your concerns and remind him of your family history.
Try not to worry, I know that is easier said than done.
All the best

I had a lung nodule which was picked up on a CT Scan. They recalled me for a further CT with contrast the next day. Then they sent me for a PET Scan to see if it was metabolically active ie cancer. It wasn't and they said it was probably fibrous tissue from previous infection but they were going to do follow up CT Scans for the next 6 months.
The next time I went, the nodule had shrunk and then it disappeared, obviously to my relief.
I know it must be really scary for you but like in a previous comment, I think they'd have been instantly pro active if they were concerned.
Hope things work out ok for you.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words. I am going to just relax and not worry to much about follow up CT. Appreciate you sharing your story.
