My husband has a nebuliser and he uses it when he needs to during an exacerbation. My gut feeling is to use it as you need it especially if you are more breathless than usual. My husbands finds it useful to use it before he goes to bed when he is ill - and that is a struggle he hates using any additional meds. On the other hand I have a completely different approach and think that you should use everything at your disposal to make life as easy as possible.

I am presuming you are using salbutamol in your nebuliser - do you use a saline solution too, that sometimes help clearing your chest. Though I had to ask the doctor - it wasn't offered!

Hope you recover very quickly, take it easy, lots of love TAD xxx

The community nurses always change my husband from 2.5 to 5.0 when he as a infection. Also to change from 4 times a day to 6.

I think you're safe to use nebuliser several times a day. I was advised that last year when I had excaberation. Do you have a COPD team you can phone for confirmation?
