It was when I read our friendly neighbourhood trolls comment on my article about maggots and corpses that it finally dawned on me that it is plain thick...it suggested I was 'advocating necrophilia' which I thought hilarious...doesn't everyone know about the Body Farm and how much scientific research has gone into the life cycles of various flies...obviously not.
From finding a partially decomposed body and not having much idea how long the unfortunate person has been lying out in the woods...the work of the Body Farm has enabled those pathologists involved in helping to solve murders and disappearances, to date almost precisely, how long a body has been in situ. Simply from observing the life cycles of the various flies and beetles which eat away at soft tissue...their work has been vital in deciding time of death in murder cases...
Necrophilia on the other hand, is the sexual perversion of having the compulsion to engage in the sexual act with a corpse...not my idea of fun but each to his or her own...we did have a necrophilic on one of the mens wards at the hospital...he'd kept his sisters body for quite a long time for that purpose until the neighbours began to mutter about the smell. I didn't have much to do with him, but he was allowed to attend the weekly socials and seemed perfectly pleasant...low IQ, but that would be expected.
What else does it grumble about...plagiarism...that's it's favourite. I think it's because it can actually spell it and it sounds sort of grand doesn't it...what our Troll hasn't yet done, and I do so wish it would...is give links to the articles I've plagiarised...that would be seriously interesting...perhaps it isn't actual articles, maybe it's books. We'll have to wait and see what it comes up with...
It must be thick as two planks though 'cos plagiarism came up when I wrote about Mum's Great Granny's Common-Place book...like she'd have ever laid hands on it, never mind read it.
And then there is cruelty to house flies...did you ever see the film of Dracula where the poor mad man is locked away in a little room and passes his time by eating flies and pleading with his Doctor for a little kitten...you just know exactly what he's planning for the kitten. Apparently...according to our pet Troll that is...swatting house flies with millions of germs on their feet is akin to cooking a Poodle in a microwave...or munching on a kitten
Of course we have no idea whether it's male or female...whether it's married or lives alone...please the gods it doesn't have children...we don't know whether it holds down a full time job and goes to have its hair styled every Friday or shops in Asda...it could be an elderly person released from long term care or a batty teenager with hair growing on the palms of its hands that the parents feed through a hatch in the bedroom door...perhaps it's one of those women who you see in town centres...dragging a shopping trolley behind them with a small snappy dog poking its head out...
If it thinks for one brief minute that I'm impressed or scared or even pissed off by the constant drip of idiotic comments then its sorely mistaken...
I've had a good life you see...and I continue to do so, despite breathing difficulties and being tethered to oxygen for twenty-fours a day...I have people who love me for what I am...I very much doubt our Troll has good and kindly friends...relatives who love it...
I am a bit flabbergasted. I read all your lovely stories and think they are great. I've not seen any horrid replies but I agree mad, sad or bad best to ignore any posts from the troll. Just don't stop writing vashti we love you xoxoxox
I read nearly all of your posts, I find them very entertaining, some make me laugh some make me cry, you are a very talented writer. I have only been to Ireland twice once when I was fourteen on a school trip to Dublin, the other about eight years ago when myself and husband travelled the west of Ireland for four days. I would love to go back one day.
Was Body Farm by Patricia Cornwell? I read all of her books as far as Scarpetta. That hairy creature who featured in some of the books was really horrible. I can't remember it's name.
I read all of the books by Kathy Reichs, she was based in Canada. There is a TV series based on her work, called Bones.
Another author I used to like was Linda Fairstein. For some reason, I went right off murder books. I think it was reading the ones by Val McDermid, who wrote Wire in the Blood. Scared the living daylights out of me.
Dean Koontz wrote some really horrific books too. I don't think I am in any hurry to read horror/murder books again. I read a Steven King book once, never again.
What pleasure do people get from really scary horror books?, I don't understand.
I love Kathy Reichs Azure and am reading one of her books right now. Death du jour I think it is called. Very good author. Also love Peter James books especially the Roy Grace novels.
I must admit to being a bit of a scary book lover too but there you go, that's just me. You take care. xxxxx
Oh yeah ive read all those authors bit i love Linda Fairstein she is fabulous and i never read books more than once apart from hers ive read them 2 or 3 times and they get better each time. My favorite is Killer Heat...
She is better than Patricia Cornwell x
• in reply to
I find Patricia Cornwell a bit heavy going at times...
• in reply to
I think her characters are awful...she has a drunk slob top cop pete who has never caught anyone...., a psychotic niece lucy who can fly helicopters and kills people, and scarpetta is a home wrecker who abandoned her mother and sister...
I missed the strange remarks on your post Vashti, I'm glad I didn't see them , not so long ago I couldn't sleep ( not like me ) when someone told her to fe** off, I was so worried in case they got in trouble. Trolls have no love in them and their glass will always be half empty because of it.
Got to go chest is not good and I have to go to see my ear consultant in the morning,
night Vashti I'll have to finish reading through the posts tomorrow xxx
A really eloquent answer, vashti. Whenever anybody mentions trolls I think of those delightful beanie toys with long hair that came out a few years ago. One of the grandkids had a collection. Perhaps one got wet, you know like the Gremlins in the films.
When I was playing at radio years ago, the then equivalent got referred to as 'IQ0'.
Vashti, I only came in to give you some support and a boost.
Thanks John....like IQO...shall remember that, it might come in handy at some time or another...lol
Hi Vashti, The moderators tell me that they have been taking down the troll as soon as she appears in any of her guises. Nobody should take notice or answer her because she will always take an argumentative stance. She is the type of person who does this just to get attention and is probably making a nuisance of herself on several sites.
We all love your stories. I saw a documentary on body farms some years ago. It was very interesting.x

They've been brilliant recently...the mods I mean.
• in reply to
I'm so wicked that I almost miss her. Some of the things she said were so ignorant that they were hilarious. Anyway, well done the mods because she really upset some very nice people. Let's all have a group hug. Aah that's better.
Came on to suport your great answer, Vashti. I think we can all see the funny side of of it now and how futile all these remarks are. One day someone will run out of user names and go off with their knuckles dragging on the ground.
What a great answer to 'it' as' it' doesn't possess the intelligence to debate like a normal person does, and so can only accuse in an irrational manner. 'Its' sole purpose is to disrupt, unsettle and try to ridicule targeted people and make wild accusations with no basis or truth. So your response to it was thoughtful, measured and intelligent, all attributes it doesn't possess.
We are stronger if we unite and don't react to 'it', as 'it' desperately want a response to satisfy their nasty sadistic tendencies.
Just keep on writing as everyone wants you to do, and ignore and report to both BLF and HU.
HU are removing them quickly, and are assuring us that they are working closely with BLF on this problem and other measures are being taken to tackle these misfits.
We see them for what they are now and can only treat them with the contempt they deserve.
I enjoy your stories Vashti and are always entertaining and thought provoking so thanks for that.
Encore, encore to be sure Vashti. I was very tempted to "bite" several times when "it" kept belittling nearly every ones' posts, but instead I just reported her as I'm sure did others?
Of course you're correct about what "it" did or didn't know, and was unable to hold a normal conversation. "It" was maybe one of those that hear a new word (to them) and proceed to use it because they think it "sounds" clever?! My ex- Mother-in-law used the word "fornicating" about anything and everything, although she had no idea what it meant! It was hilarious when used in some context, but she would not be corrected in any way as to its use .
These trolls are to be pitied I guess, but I personally have my own solution if I were to meet them face-to-face, which I won't repeat on here! lol
Good reply Vashti, I just 'report' anything that is offensive in any way now. Keep writing your friends love reading your posts.
Manag3ed to get The Devil in the Marshalsea at long last in in audio version as it isn't printed in large type and with this annoying AMD cannot read smalltype. Loved it!
Keep it coming Vashti, we all love your stories. I look for them everyday they are so interesting, I have never been to Ireland and don't suppose I will now but love to hear your stories of times gone by.
Well put as usual. I do not know if the person concerned gets removed before I see it, as I have not seen a post other than on the daily highlight email but cannot see what has been said.
I will not reply to them/it even if it was directed to me! Not worth the effort. Only worth clicking the report button.
I have reported whoever a few times and on the whole the Mods are doing a good job but just one or two slip through the net. Not worth my typing any reply to this odd person but I do laugh about seeking permission from the pets, animals etc. before posting photos. I doubt they really care but who knows. Now, where is my cat..................
Is she still here ? I can't think why she keeps picking on you Vashti as I don't remember you having any interactions with her when she was still here under her first pseudonym. She never bothers me although I and one or two others were the ones who objected most strongly to her original attacks on members. I wonder if the people who defended her behaviour a few weeks ago, still feel the same way ? The cruelty to gardens, pets, grandchildren stuff is laughable but those personal attacks on your integrity are unforgiveable. I expect she's just jealous of your popularity.
• in reply to
She's still about but the mods knock her off really quickly now...actually I thought I was quite understanding towards her, at first anyway....asked about her Mother and everything...lol
• in reply to
Well I hope the moderators manage to get rid of this pest completely and as soon as possible. You take care Vashti !
The mods must be doing a superb job Vashti because I haven't seen any of the troll's handiwork - your takedown, however, has had me in stitches so I thank her, him, it from the heart of my bottom for provoking it!!!
Dragonmum, it's like the early bird catching the worm. You have to log in very early or very late to catch the troll. S/he strikes when moderators are off duty.
Well put as usual Vashti, i think we all had a good giggle at the trolls expense. what goes round and all that! Keep those wonderful tales coming. xx
I think the troll is eaten up with jealousy because your great stories get so much attention and are looked forward to by us all. Ignore it x
Leave it be...it doesn't much matter who said what or why...we're putting ourselves on the on the level of the unfortunate Troll if we bicker and squabble...
Hello Vashti and all you other lovely people in this community. I did manage to see the response to your posting about the flies etc and apart from being completely bewildered by the reference to necrophilia my first thought was this person really needs to get a life! I have been a member of this site for around 6/8 weeks but it seemed that every time I was ready to make my first post something dreadful was happening so I just preferred to read the posts early morning before work and again when I came home. I applaud you for such a wonderful response which had me laughing out loud and no doubt a certain person spitting feathers and trying to come up with more inane ramblings. I have enjoyed all your wonderful posts and I do hope they keep on coming. I think you are all good people, so informative, giving good advice when asked, very caring but also I like the sense of humour and the happy photos people post. Keep on posting please.
PS: I was diagnosed with COPD about 18 months ago.
That last reply from me may not have come over as intended I to struggle at times with grammer and spelling. I just do not think it is the same person.
I believe I missed a really sweet message from our 'friend'. What a shame
Keep the Stories coming. I think they should define a Troll as a person that has no real life of their own so they need to piggy back others. Jealousy is a first, sad next etc etc. as my Granny used to say "If you cannot say anything nice be quiet!" Audrey xxx
