looking forward to the replies because I would like to know too as I do seem to breathe easier when the central heating is off. At the moment I have bowls of water on the radiators to moisten the air.

Hello sabanillas,

I am not aware of any independent research studies on the effectiveness of humidifiers for patients with COPD, so I am unable to provide you with any evidence based information: however, we do receive calls from people who have purchased these machines and do feel the benefits. I would advise you see if you can get one on a money back guarantee or another option would be to hire one. I have done a general search and found a company that hire out machines. Obviously BLF don't recommend or endorse any specific model of humidifier.

Please let us know how you get on if you do try one.

thankyou

oddly enough they recommend a de-humidifier

Hi I have a dehumidifier, I live in Sydney and humidity levels are high which can make me feel a bit worse than normal. Take care.

Copd is such an individual illness, while one thing works for you it may have the opposite affect on me.Moisture is my enemy ,I can,t walk in the rain ,which I use to enjoy yet I.m ok in the snow.It can also take a long time to feel the benefits of these things.Good luck!D.
