What do you do if you catch cold?

My husband got sick several days ago and I have been nurturing myself and spraying alcohol to keep germs away, plus using Airbourne and vitamin c, but tonight I feel the scratchy throat and am worried. What do you do to take care of yourself when this happens?

Stop panicking!! Easier said than done - I almost collapse if I see anyone within ten yards of me with a cold! We have used successfully this year a product called First Defence which is a nasal spray that apparently stops a cold developing. Good luck, TAD xx

Not a lot Punky is you have already got a cold. Over the counter medicines help reduce the effects. The best thing is plenty of rest and keep warm. Do you have a rescue pack? If you feel it has gone on your chest then take the ab's asap to try and limit the damage.

Don't be afraid to visit your docs if you need to as they would rather we did go and it was nothing than not go and be ill. Take your lungs seriously and treat them with kid gloves.

Thanks everyone..I have been dousing myself in airbourne, Tylenol, water and sweat! SO far not a chest cold. My husband likes to give me a cold annually! Bless his heart but man I wish he would be more careful for me......

Zinc lozenges are believed to reduce the severity of a cold and the length of time it lasts.

I have a cold now so will go buy some. I have to find where someone said they use a certain nose drop too and get that also Thank you!

TAD said try first defense at the first sign of a cold. Although I am infected with a cold now I am going to try this now also... maybe these things will keep it out of the chest!
