Not that I know of......but when nurses ask me questions one is always do you get headaches? I say no...but it may be a sign of somthing important, that could be treated.hope this makes sence.
Thank you. Makes total sense. I'm seeing doc next week I'll ask him x
Am sure this topic has come up before. Can't remember outcome but worth looking through old posts. I have a feeling that not drinking enough water had something to do with it.....
Thank you. I drink a lot of fluid and have fresh water by my bed x

Ii have read that morning headaches with copd could mean too much carbon dioxide being retained in your body. I would speak to my doctor...good luck!
thank you for that. I'm seeing the doc next week x
I'm a CO2 retainer and one of my symptoms was waking with a severe headache which usually disappeared within an hour or so. I believe it can also be a symptom of sleep apnoea (not sure of spelling), so definitely mention your headaches when you see your doctor. If your appointment is a few days away it might be worth making a note each morning of how severe the headache is and how long it lasts.
Good luck with your appointment. Let us know how you get on. Jan
Thanks jabber. I'll keep tabs on the heads and let the forum know x

I often wake and feel as if I have a hangover but haven't had anything to drink. This is the first time I have seen that this may be down to too much carbon dioxide and will need to mention to my doctor. Thanks
Same for me x
Co2 retention headaches are normally in the forehead area. I hope that helps.
It does thanks x
If you never had before then it is not normal. Could be just general stuffiness
I get morning headaches but have suffered headaches most of my life. One of my consultants asked if I had headaches and when I said yes and some are very bad. Just said "Because of the condition "
Yeah its a standard excuse. Thanx though x
I have had morning, afternoon, evening and night headaches for many years. I have been tested for carbon dioxide retention but and have been cleared. Since June last year I have been using Ipratropium Bromide Solution in my nebuliser 4 times a day and have found that it has helped to loosen my very sticky (as in practically solid) mucus not only in my lungs but also in my sinuses which has helped cut down my headaches. It might be worth talking to your doctor, it might be that your sinuses' are not draining while you are sleeping.
Of course after years of not being able to breath through my nose because they were always blocked up all hell breaks loose if I either cough or sneeze now, my hubby gets away from me as quickly as possible as the consequences can be dire.
Sue
Thanks Sue, I dont have a problem breathing through my nose, dont feel congested or anything. just this nagging head which usually passes off after an hour or so x
