Thanks for replying. I have had copd for a few years now , still getting used to it. I find that I sometimes need someone to talk to, can't keep pestering the family , they have their lives to live. Thanks

Hi Marie, I think most of us have felt Fed up, especially when we are having one of those hard times, during which I have to Fight depression and that foreboding feeling of doom. I think most of us had this horrible "thing" , probably years before we were finally diagnosed. Why didn't the Drs. Know from tests, blood, crazy etc. I think they became weary of repeating the warnings to stop smoking. In my case I had a heart problem for 20 years that had the whole cardiology population of w tx baffled . My heart rate was slow and extremly erratic , low BP, no calcification anywhere and my ekgs blew their minds!!! Then my BP after being low for years, shot out of site and I went into full blown Afib. Now we find , Yep, COPD, stage 4. ,1 to 2 years left. That was nearly 4 yrs ago due to changing Drs.

You don't Ever get used to it, you learn to know your limitations and not make excuses for them. It's futile to attempt describing what your going through except to another with similar experiences.

There are times,as I watch tv or sitting crocheting, I'll think, oh I need to go do __________ whatever, jump up and start out only to be slammed with no breath after a few "normal" steps. Then I have to admit, I may say ugly words. Now the positive part,,,,,, this forum has laterally given me a new lease on living, enhanced my sense of humor and helped me avoid my pity parties. I am finding I'm not boring my kids with my fears , pains etc and Boy, I'll bet if they told the truth WOW, what a relief!!!

Well can you tell I'm most always alone??? Get me started and don't know when to shut up!!

Anyway , the most important thing I've learned_______ live and keep your mind in the present, don't waste time wishing things in the past hadn't happened Nor, contemplating the future!!!

One "thing" at a time!!! !
