I will stop using my nebuliser for the next two weeks ( to see what happens).

I asked my doctor about using Vic vapour rub, she said I should not use it because of my server COPD, my lungs are only working at 18%.

To be prescribed oxygen your blood gases must be low. I hope to hear from you soon. Stay well x

I believe you also should not use it if you are on oxygen.

I believe it is because it is in a petroleum base and we are told not to use anything like vaseline when on oxygen.

Thanks Dozy...have to admit I adore Vicks and didn't have any idea it was petroleum based.

, i put vaseline up my nose as it was bleeding and dry ,with the oxygen, but was warned not to do this , as it can be a fire hazard , i was told just rinse with water.

can i ask why your not using the nebuliser mw77 ?

anyway hope you keep well mw, best regards jimmy xxx :)

Jimmy were you told that you could use KY jelly as that is not petroleum based and is apparantly a very good lubricant!!

I believe the petroleum jelly affects the hoses we use for oxygen. I am on O2 24/7 and also use a CPAP machine for Sleep Apnoea. I was warned not to use petroleum based cream s etc near any of the masks or hoses.

No it is not the hoses! You should not have grease or petroleum based products near pure oxygen as it can self ignite and burst into flame, nasty!

Yes, I know about the potential fire hazard with O2 and petroleum based products but most people, who use CPAP machines for Sleep Apnoea without O2 are also warned not to use them because of damage to the hoses and masks.
