I am Maz, I have asthma and am on the MART regime using Fostair. Anyone else on this? I only started it a week ago. Thanks.

Hello Maz,

Welcome to our Group. I don't know what the MART regime is, but I was issued with Fostair early last year. My own experience is that it is a miracle drug. It has enabled me to dispense with Salamol. I can do practically everything I did before I became unwell with copd. I am waiting for Spring and Summer now for when I commence physical work in my garden, for -perhaps my response may not be the same. I am being recalled for PR shortly - my second. It will be interesting to see how I cope. I do hope you too find Fostair a real good help to you.

All the best.

Hi Jennifer

Your reply was interesting. What were you prescribed prior to fostair and what it trial and error that eventually got you onto fostair

Hello Jimmy,

I do not remember, apart from Salamol. I think with this disease it is truly trial and error, and maybe £sd plays a part. I do remember a change of prescription being made via telephone consultation with a foreign doctor - and this made me very poorly. I do not know why medication was changed on that occasion. I was first diagnosed in 2013. Sorry I cannot be more helpful, unless you would like me to telephone my surgery and ask? I would do that with pleasure.

Hi Jennifer

No but thanks anyway. I have had my meds changed once with the proviso that if the new meds did not suit me I could change back. I am now on two inhalers that seem to work for me at this time.

But as you say my change was financial

But gp was honest enough to involve me in its effectiveness and changed back at my request. Thanks

Hi, a warm welcome to you.

Like Jennifer I was changed to Fostair about six months ago. I find it excellent too and hardly ever need the Ventolin. I'm very very pleased indeed.

Good luck with it, we are all different though so give it a good try but go back to the GP if you aren't so lucky.

Like Jennifer and peege I was changed to Fostair - I find it better than the previous inhaler, more versatile.

Thanks all :) the MART regime is where I use the Fostair for a preventer and a reliever inhaler. I also take Montekukast. It's early day's so I am hoping I get on ok.
