hi guys
Could anyone give me some advice on life insurance with chronic lung disease ....is it possible to get any .
Mandy
hi at last I can answer a question well sort of. Two years ago when we took out a new mortgage I got a quote for life insurance. At the time, I didn't have a lung condition but have angina and had had an angiograph and cardiac ablation. Once those details were put in the quote came back at £780 a month! I didn't take them up on the offer!
When I was diagnosed with COPD the nurse said to me that I was unlikely to get life insurance again. That said, depending on your age there are companies who do it without medicals but I suspect the premiums are high and the pay our relatively low.
Hopefully somebody else will have had a better experience.
£780 a month !!!! ha ha ha
I have seen adverts for over 50s saying no medicals are done but it cant be that simple.
Thanks for reply
Hi Mandy. I pay 8.50 a month with Fortis insurance. No medical just ask if you smoke.
oh thanks brooke i will check them out
If you are over a specified age (usually 55 or 60) you will be able to buy some whole of life insurance. Without a Medical. For not a lot of cover. Michael Parkinson used to fill up daytime TV on ITV by advertising this to cover the "final expenses". It usually isn't good value. If you are looking to buy life insurance to cover a mortgage or something similar then your health/medical condition/age are very significant factors. Try to find a good Insurance Broker who can look at the market. You probably won't find huge variations in Premiums and it could be very expensive or cover may be declined.
I was looking into that,my acupuncturist said one called Simply is a good one ,you pay for what u get when u want. I don't understand about them,I know just a bed is about £150 a night plus docs fees., jump the Que.for ops.
No insurance companies will pay out if you have had the illness before you took out a police as a few years ago I took one out for a car and I even put down I was disable all was good till I went in for a operation and when I tryed to get the insurance to take over the payment as that was what I was paying for they told me that thay can not pAy out as I had the illness when I took out the insurance so be very ccareful before you take out one even one that says no medical
Hi Mandy I'm 65 now ,have severe copd six years and quit smoking 3 yrs. ago.I have a 4 thousand dollar life ins. policy @42 dollars mo. The agent told me the main reason I got accepted because I quit smoking I've had this ins. for 2 yrs. now I also told them of my copd. Good Luck
Hi
I have an over fifties, but they don't pay out if death happens in first two years. Don't know if all are that way but mine is.
Carole
Legal and general , no medical info required and decent enough amounts for you to choose to pay
It would be a better idea to get good recommendations and reviews from a trusted site as well. There are websites that offer a good list of insurance companies you can consider. That's what I did. I can recommend you one site. The accidents-happen. I hope you'll get well soon dear.
