D day is here or should I say PICC day is here

Well morning all the day at last has arrived when I get my lines put in and will be given the low down on who in the community will be looking after me, naturally a few collywobbles but no doubt quite a few on here would have gone through the same thing. So here goes will keep you informed.

Hang on in there Anthony x

well what a day glad it is nearly over first they took me into a room where everything is sterile, and using an ultrasound probe they located a artery first go. (forgot before this everything including the skin was sterile) then they started feeding in the PICC line after I had a shot of local, that went great guns they took a blood sample for kidney and liver among other things and so they could tailor my antibiotic to me, so I went back to the waiting room and got my first coffee of the day (when I cheekily said I usually have at least 2 lined up at home cooling down they obliged). At 11:30 I was told the blood results were back and the pharmacy had then to make my antibiotic up to which I replied I hope they don't call him Heisenberg LOL and it was all down hill from there I waited hour after hour the poor nurse could not apologize enough as there were only 2 on duty in the pharmacy I got a cool mug of soup for lunch plus plenty of coffees to keep going but I was in the depths of despair nearly when at four 'O' clock my ab's arrived as was usual they run the first one through me and I did eventually get out of hospital by about 16:45 feeling nauseous so no tea was to be had when I got home I may manage supper latter a matter of wait and see the community IV team start tomorrow morning.
