Just to let you all know, that Wen has been allowed home for part of the weekend, to see how she manages. The Dr's had been discussing it for a few days, but didn't decide until the last minute to let her home for a short while.
Wen has been doing a lot of occupational therapy, much of which is in the kitchen cooking. She loves cooking anyway, so has really been enjoying it and has picked up a lot of handy tips, and some appliances have been ordered for her.
It must be great for her to get back to her own bed, and being at home for a short period will give her a better idea of how much extra help she will need, or if there is a problem with something, then she can bring it the attention of the OT's.
Take care everyone,
hugs from Huggs xxx

Thanks for the message on Wendells Huggs, now that is magnificent progress. Hope her first weekend home turns out well, got to be better than hospital as you say . If you see this Wendells enjoy that cooking even if you have to adapt how you do it.xxxx
It is great news, but hope she doesn't overdo things. I think it will do her the world of good and make her even more determined to get home permanently. You are welcome.
Separately - I'll pm you re last week when i get a bit of emotional space. All very moving but exhausting too. Enjoy the weekend on your lovely island x
I certainly will, and am sure she will see replies herself, although being at home I would imagine she will be concentrating on that, and have visitors to keep her busy, although she managed to send me a couple of pictures through the night!
Look forward to hearing from you when you are ready. I am a bit snowed under as well just now, but pleased for you that everything seemed to go well. The emotion of it all, does exhaust you, so don't worry, just take your time.
I am having a pj day today, to try and get some rest. ha ha Its a lovely day outside although a bit raw.
Raining all day here huggs. I am on a steroid high and feeling epic, even though Im tapering now. Two hours sleep each night and a bit in the day.
Last night at midnight i planted up our front window window-box with cyclamen, then after a couple of hours of nod, at 5.30 moved heavy plants pots from front through the house to the back garden; have washed car so rain can rinse it (car is very old and a joke in our street), taken Dora for a walk, raked up two big bags of autumn leaves and dead stuff etc. And been on and off the forum since 6am.
Then crashed between 12.30 til 1.45. Now Im ready to go again. Don't know whether to laugh or cry - its not natural and i'd just love to have a standard decent night's sleep (whatever that is ) and a proper sunday relaxing with the papers.
Good thing is i can breathe pretty well. By the time Im done with the pred I'll be back to regular s.o.b.
It certainly sounds like it, and having a good sleep in her own bed will be beneficial too. Wen is as cheery as ever, and appears to be doing well. Long may it continue.
You are welcome for the update, it is my pleasure.
I most certainly will, although I hope Wen will be reading all the lovely replies herself. She has been boosted a great deal by everyone's lovely good wishes. Thank you.
