Copd : Hi everyone I am new to this... - Lung Conditions C...

Welcome bjune this really is a friendly supportive informative site xx
Good Morning, Welcome to the site! You are quite right - people do not understand at all! And actually I think unless you live with it day to day you cant understand what an impact it has on daily life. As I say my husband is fine as long as he doesnt move!!! Take good care of yourself, TAD xx
Welcome - I've only been here a couple of weeks and find everyone absolutely fantastic and friendly. I was thrown a curve ball recently and wrote about it on here, the support was amazing, you will love it here.
xx
IGNORANCE!! I keep on hearing about curve balls - apart from being bouncy, what is meant?
Hard to catch/hit i think pergola! So hard to deal with.
Other suggestions from anyone else?
Something unexpected happening while you are dealing with something else! Complicating the problem. cough x
LOL - thought you meant I was ignorant first. For me it means "hard to deal with" - I went to the Doctor after having bloods done and came away with an ailment I wasn't expecting in anyway shape or form, hence curve ball. However, after feeling sorry for myself for a day, I "bounced" back and started dealing with it!
You were all amazing in your support for me and it's something I will always appreciate.
Hope the explanation helps
Something to do with baseball. "Three strikes and you're out" The pitcher likes to muck your brain up, so sometimes he will throw a curve ball, which you just can't go for and you have to let it sail past you....I think that's what it means. I saw a few games when I lived in America (I am English by the way) There lots of Americans on this site I think, so perhaps they will explain it to you.....
Big welcome bjune

Hello Bjune, welcome to the site. You chose the right site if you have COPD. There are a lot of members on this site with varied lung conditions in different stages. Hope you stay and join us on a regular basis.
Hi Bjune, I have found this to be the most friendly and informative group since I joined a few months ago - there is always someone who can help you out if you have any queries x
Welcome bjune, this is a forum I would love to say I had no need to join. That would mean I didn't have COPD and my life would be easier. In reality it has been the best thing I did since diagnoses. Restored my sanity, banished my isolation and so many friendly knowledgeable people have helped me understand things more, boosted my moods and helped me more than they will ever know. xx
I would like to say thanks for the welcome it was nice to see so many friendly people on here I will be staying on here

Hi I have only just started on here. Have copd as well it does help to hear of others. You don't feel so isolated. Hope all is well.
Hi Bjune, Welcome to an amazing site that will give you so much help and more advice than most GP's as Im sad to say a lot of GP's know very little about this broad spectrum COPD , dont know what age you are but I am 58 yrs , previously an aerobic instructor for 25 plus years getting this awful disease hit me like a train and you are right not many people understand, so any questions or just need to vent your spleen or just need cheering up or support its all here, take Care xxx Carol
