Hi Whit, a bit difficult to find, but you can calculate your predicted values (that is for the average person of your age/height/sex) here: hopkinsmedicine.org/pftlab/...

However, this is not necessarily what is used in EU (first column is John Hopkins Hospital calculation for predicted) by your consultant. There is Uk specific calculator, but it does not give predicted values, but uses them to tell you how far off from normal you are:

patient.co.uk/doctor/Spirom...

Sorry that's all I am aware of, but first website should give you a guide on what the values should be.

By the way the FEV values you have quoted have been referenced to a healthy 74 year old male of your height (and possibly weight). So the healthy average person like you would have 100% (with variation of 85-120% considered normal range). If you want to compare the values in litres you have to take your measured and maybe you have also predicted (or calculate this with the first website above) in units of litres from your spirometer testing printout. Cheers xx

I don't take a lot of notice of that anymore I was stage 4 lung capacity of a 87 year old I'm 52. I went for a lung capacity teat with the nurse it was a locum she did it different than I had ever had it done before, she got me to blow 3 time in to the machine the result was around the same then she gave me a spacer and told me to inhale 4 puffs of my inhaler this time I was level 2.

When I got home I rested and used my asthma tube I blew around a 100 really bad so we can all improve our breathing if we take 4 puffs of our inhaler through a spacer the problem is we would all be getting through 1 inhaler every day.

Some days I'm good some days I can't string a sentence together so I think you should take each day as it comes
