Another potential silver bullet ........

Lung-dialysis for COPD patients where they recon it could reduce mortality rates from 35% to 7%.

Thanks for the extra information. Very interesting . I think its not a treatment for the majority of us Copd 'ers.

But it's great to see new things coming along.

In my case I have to think of the generations that will follow me. I am Alpha-1, a genetic protein deficiency that causes progressive lung damage with chronic COPD symptoms. With the right (?) combination of parental genes the condition will pass on from generation to generation .... I may well have passed it on to my children, but who knows .... tests are readily available but neither will have the test for fear of spending the rest of their lives worrying they may end up like me.

Any new developments, albeit some not available for the next 50 years, is for me, excellent news.
