As some of you will know, I posted a request a few days ago about the use of abbreviations and their meanings which related to Pulmonary conditions. I asked if someone could post some of the more common ones.
The response was tremendous, positive and many said it was much needed and long overdue. Stone, very kindly produced a list from all the contributions sent in, and it is now posted on the site, but my aim now is to get the list on the site as a permanent feature, which will be readily seen by everyone at first glance.
I, and a few others have written to Michael, the Administrator of BLF asking for this to be done. The more people that email or pm him the better, as the request will have more impact. The more the merrier.
In my email I stated the benefits, convenience and the fact that it would be educational to us all, by learning about other pulmonary conditions. ( Other than our own)
Can I ask you all a big favour? If you agree with the idea of the list being a permanent feature on the site which will be easily accessed by us all, to email or pm Michael the Administrator asking him to support this venture. A list which is right there on the page can be easily referred to and will not be so intimidating to newcomers to the site, if they can understand more quickly what we are all talking about!
Thank you for reading this, and thank you ( I hope) for supporting that the list be a permanent feature on the site. I am greatly appreciative of everyone who has responded and contributed. Please, contact Michael as soon as possible.
With fond wishes, hugs, and better health for us all.
Love,
Huggs.
I have just noticed that the list has been pinned by the Administrators on the right side of this page at the top! After me writing this long post as well. However, please do not let the fact that it is there at the moment, stop you from emailing or private messaging the admin. We want to make sure that it stays on the new lay out of the site whenever that becomes available to everyone. Thanks, and well done everyone. Huggs xxx

Oh well done Huggs, Stone and the others. That is brilliant and am sure it will be used a lot. Thanks to the admins for putting this up. Please keep it there. x
Thanks coughalot1. I have just come across your reply by accident, it did not go into my email box. Mick told me to try something that might solve this problem, so I will need to look for it and do it. It is really annoying that all my e mails are not coming through.
As you will have seen, I have encouraged people to continue to email or pm admin so that it remains as a permanent feature. Thank you so much for your support in this venture. Mick, got a personal reply from Michael, stating that he was passing the request onto the editors. I cannot believe I posted that long request, submitted it and then immediately (in about 2 seconds), that it had been done. So mission accomplished. Oh, and Michael thought it was a good idea so I am sure it will stay.
hugs xx ps. your email has just arrived at my inbox just this minute. It seems that they are slow for some reason.
thank you so very much - I have printed it out (after being advised how to do it by someone in this group!)and have it on the wall above my computer.....every time I read something in abbreviations I can easily translate. Thank you very much again and I hope they will keep it on the site permanently.
I am so glad that you have the list printed out for you. Did you know that it is now on this web page permanently? It is right at the top of the page, under pinned posts. The list itself is not printed, it just says abbreviations, so that is a good start. You are welcome, but it wasn't just me, as Stone compiled the list and he and others made contributions. Plus a number of us emailed the Administrator about it and he thought it was a good idea, and passed it on to an editor. Keep well and take care. hugs xx
Hi huggs, If you click on Abbreviations, you get the full list. A pinned item doesn't remain pinned for ever. but if you type abbreviation in search (in the green band on top) you should be able to find it again)
Hi Mick, I did realise that I had to click onto abbreviations, which I did. I did think that it would be there all the time though. If not, we well have to do something about that! hugs xx
It really is a surprise that your one didn't make it! Not. ha ha ha Pleased you like the list, but it is only pinned at the minute. I am told that means it is not permanent. So there may still be some work to do. I posted a long appeal to get everyone to email admin in support of the list being a permanent feature. I submitted the post, and immediately noticed it was already pinned by the admin people! Anyway, I am so pleased that you like the idea and it has been successful so far. The only thing wrong was that admin did not edit the page so all the other conversations were also included in the list, although you had to scroll past the list to see them. They were mainly all between qbjb and myself! We have now deleted most of them. I would have thought that they would have edited the other posts out! hugs xx
