Hi Shelbie88, First welcome to the community some great folks around here. I use the Acapella Choice and would not be without it. It was the fact that it can be used at almost any angle the made me purchase it. I don't have to use it all the time but it is the mornings when the junk is stubborn is when it comes into it's own. Of course we have to remember that not everything is good for everybody. Hope this helps.

Breathe easy & exercise well. Dave from the LoS.

Hi shelbie88 I purchased the Acapella choice a couple of weeks ago so far very pleased with it. I have since learnt that the acapella is now available on the NHS. Good luck

I was shown the huff technique which seems to work for me. But I can see why these would work. Mention it to your GP.

Hi Shelbie88, I have a flutter device which I use twice a day - the object is to force air into your lungs and so help you to clear them. It takes a bit of practice to fine the right position to get the maximum effect, your physiotherapist should have done this with you when you were issued with the device. However, I find it best to just rest it on my lips, point it slightly upwards and blow or breathe out quickly to a count of ten. A different position may work better for you so just keep trying until you get a satisfactory 'wobble' of the ball. Good luck. Take care, Lizzy.

Hi Shelbie and welcome.

I have a flutter, flute and acapella and the one I have a preference for and use the most is the Acapella Choice. Simply because you can use it when you are in any position i.e. laying down or as I do at the same time as posturnal draining with percussion. I know it is supposed to do the same job as pd i.e. vibrate the gunk to get it moving but I tend to do both. Another good point is you can change the resistance from 1 to 5, which I also find very useful. I haven't found them as robust as the flutter - it seems to be the little magnet at one end of the rocker which seems to go on the ones I've had, but I wouldn't be without it.

Does anyone know if there is any identification stating that you have COPD, that you can carry with you if you have a accident .

such as a card with COPD information on or a wrist band stating the same (the carrier has COPD).
