i have stage 3 copd on inhalers and nebuliser 4 times day ,because i can dress and wash myself i got refused dla, wondering if even

worth applying for pip plus got diagnosed 3 and half years ago and was given 2 to 5 years ,anyone been granted pip for this

Hi traho nice to meet you and welcome to the site. I am sorry you got refused dla but it is definitely worth applying for pip. Pip is different from dla and concentrates on the effect your illness has on you rather than the illness itself. The forms are difficult to fill out so get help from the cab or other official body like a disability group and don't forget to put your worst day down not your best. I am sure there will be lots of people coming in soon with more advice. x

Hib traho,, PIP is always worth applying for, but do get somebody to help you, Uk Age are very good, they also have the point scoring as well for the forms, its the way the questions are answered to score the points,. Also gather as much evidence as you can, from consultants to your doctor and a copy of your prescription, these all help,but do be prepared for a long wait, as they are quite behind on pip/ dla forms at the moment,,some people have waited months for there assessment, hop this is of some help, good luck,,chrissex

Hello Traho, welcome to the site, yes it is worth a claim for PIP even if it takes a while as many on DLA lower rates get higher rate under pip regulations for the care component and during the change over some claims are getting confused so reapply I'm sure it will be to your best advantage in the end.
