Do you think there have any detrimental effect on the condition. IE coughing up mucus on a morning and are you on any medicines?

No not that I have noticed other than coughing more than I did with 'real fags' I think maybe im using a too high dose maybe I need to take a lesser mg.........I take Ventoilin inhaler, Ventolin nebulisers, Symbicort, Uniphyllin and singulair for my Asthma, was told in Jan this year I too have moderate COPD but was told im on all the meds that they would prescribe if I was not already on them, so not sure if my cough is because the E Cig is too strong of part of my COPD Symptoms..........sorry not much help was I really x

thank you, I'm new to lots of drugs and I'm trying to work out what is best for me, including E-CIGS

Maybe have a word with your doctor or Asthma nurse maybe they would suggest you try another smoking aid that you could get from your doctor like the patches or the inhalator if your unsure about using the ecig, my doctor is aware im using one and has never suggested that I don't and that its not good for me Re: my Asthma/COPD...........Good luck

Just to be clear bobz are you referring to Asthma? Not criticising spelling, I even googled it and came up with a volcano! If it's asthma - yes, me too.

Yes you are correct, I some times make mistakes, put it down to my age.

I think the first thing that happens when you start vaping (using e-cigs) is that you get an increase in the amount of mucous until the gunk is disposed of - this didn't happen to me BTW but others have experienced it - something to do with improvement to the blood-supply/circulation. My asthma nurse was impressed with my results at last visit - I rarely need doctors these days so haven't had an opinion from one. After 4 years it would be irrelevant anyway!

Are you still using E-CIGS. kind regards

Yes bobz, I am; for me it's the perfect solution. No intention of ever quitting nicotine but all the bad effects come from burning tobacco which produces the tar that messes up my lungs - this way I can enjoy a 60 year habit without the down-side. I haven't had to have an antibiotic or oral steroid in the 4 years I've been vaping, no longer need salmeterol and am down to just 1 inhaler before bed. Win-win for me!

Firework,hi dragon mum the e cigs sound brilliant, are they the electronic cigarette ,if so why have they got such a bad write up, I would really like to try e cig as I am desperate to stop smoking, like you I enjoy smoking, but need to get rid of the bad side ,

I may just go for it and look on amazon, have a good day.

This is the only way I stooped my 40 a day abet. I am now trying to cut down on my e-cigs. Kind regards

My theory why e-cigs get such a bad write up....

No taxes for the government, no benefit for the drug companies, interfering with recommended alternatives (patches, drugs, chewing gum, etc., including nicotine inhalator which tastes revolting btw!) I'd like to know how pure nicotine prescribed as above can be safer than a vaporised version ...

Personally, I enjoy my e-cigs and have no intention of stopping! My preference is 1.2% nicotine because I like the flavour but occasionally 0% is fine.

Make the right decision for yourself, firework, and enjoy! You can buy single non-refillable e-cigs from supermarkets for around £6/7 - then you can go for rechargeable if you like.

There are other methods, gums and patches containing the nicotine - which everyone bangs on about but which is no more harmful than caffeine in the amounts a vaper gets - I tried all of them plus hypnosis and they didn't work for me.. Agree with qbjb entirely - the opposition is purely cash engendered. The NHS is the Pharmaceuticals biggest customer and they live on disease, not health. There are just 3 ingredients in an e-cig and one of them is a powerful germicide - I haven't had a real cold in 4 years, so that's another big plus (but not for the drug companies) If you decide to go with it bobz get a decent kit - lots of help on any vaping forum.

Sorry, I see you are already vaping from your post. (edit)
