Evening

Yes I was awarded DLA before it changed to PIP. One piece of advice don't fill the form in yourself get in touch with CAB or similar organization. I would ring BLF help line. Good luck

PIP isn't an out of work benefit lottie - scroll down to who can get PIP.

Many folks would not be able to get to work if it were not for the mobility component. cx

ESA you can only work in government or council approved work placements.

I got awarded Pip 2 days ago, the enhanced mobility rate. I work part time.

Hi suzey..can I ask how got enhanced moblity rate.and still work??? The lady who did mine said its for those who struggle to work, and get high rate if can't walk do things etc??? Confused..do they knew you work

I get enhanced rate because I can barely walk. I still work and claim PIP because it's not means tested. It's perfectly ok to claim PIP and work in fact it's almost encouraged.

Yes they know I work, it's one of the things I was asked at ATOS assessment. However, without the top mobility rate I would be unable to work. This is true for many of us who need the highest rate of mobility. I should add here I recorded the assessment by ATOS and submitted no medical evidence - I don't feel it's my job to chase my GP etc for medical reports.

My ATOS assessment was really bad, she was downright nasty and very rude- I find it difficult to listen to when I play it back for transcription purposes. The assessor told you what I can only describe as lies - you can and should claim if you can work, that's what it's for in part.

I'm assuming you didn't record your assessment for later use at tribunal or mandatory reconsideration if you need it? Please don't give up on your claim even if you get declined it isn't the end by any means, please believe me I know how stressful it is - DWP want you to give up.

I agree with the first post get someone to fill in the form I put in a claim for DLA May 13 put on the form I was severe level 4 COPD but did not go in to detail I was turned down. I got a claim pack for PIP and got this charity to fill it in for me he went in to so much detail stating EVERTHING I found difficult but I have not had a reply and I'm expecting this to take at least 12 months good luck

I work part time and get high rate DLA. Hope when it changes to PIP I will be ok! Without the high rate mobility I would be unable to work. It means I can work part time - would be unable work full time. Plus need Blue Badge to be able to park at work. Couldn't get to work any other way but by car.

Hi,

a friend of mine had her DLA stopped due to being able to work. She got in touch with MP but then had to reapply for PIP, turned down flat, as fit for work! Appeal and MP again, and after a brief phone call, decision over turned and back dated. She can't walk without sticks! She works part-time but full time when available, PIP is supposed to help with mobility and staying in work if able, it helps with the additional costs of chronic illness/disability or should in an ideal world.
