Hiya Jeanielee. I have been on Seretide 500 for 3 years with no side effects. As chrissie53 says make sure you rinse out well after taking it.

Hi jeanielee and welcome. A common side effect is Thrush ( yeast infection ) in the mouth so make sure you rinse your mouth out after every go.

If, by any chance ,anyone gets mouth thrush, ask the doc for Nystatin in case he/she don't know.

Hi Jeanielee, welcome to the site. I take seretide 500, have been taking it for around four years, get the occasional sore throat which is my fault for forgetting to rinse mouth after use. I also get muscle cramps but not sure what drug is causing that one for certain, so would not put it down to the Seretide 500. Hope to see you again soon

Hi jeanielee and welcome.

I don't know if anyone else has had such bad side effects as me but I was only on a very mild dose of seretide and had very extreme side effects. My heart was beating very fast and my blood presure went sky high, to such any extent that the doctor sent for an ambulance and I was rushed to hospital(never had a problem before with my heart) The hospital said that it was an extreme reaction to the seretide. I also had a reaction to Symbicort (Day and night cramps)

so maybe I am just unusual. I now take clenyl and so far so good.I was only diagnosed 12 months ago so it's early days yet acording to others on this site. Hope you are coming to terms with your copd, I do know it takes a while.

Hi ptliverpool thanks for your message,I think i was in denial at first but have now come to terms with it i am still trying to be active i swim for 30mins twice a week and do yoga twice a week,To be perfectly honest when i saw all the side affects i decided not to take the meds but have recently had a bad cold and cough so im trying it now.I hope you stay well on your clenyl, fingers crossed for all our fellow sufferers too .
